I don't think that Basalt is available in any shade of Black in it's current line up!

The buyer might have requested a custom paint job directly from Citroën or through the dealership. This seems possible considering the dire need for the company and the dealership to get a sale. If you would like one yourself, you could just give it a shot from your nearest Citroën dealership, and if they are in dire need of a sale and you are dead serious about it, they could offer you the same.

I once had an option from Toyota, just when the Urban Cruiser (rebadged Toyota) was about to be discontinued, to get it with a sunroof and in my desired paint job directly from the dealership, so these things are possible; it depends on the company and the dealership.

Dark Edition Citroen C3, Basalt & Aircross launched

Citroen has launched Dark Editions of the C3, Basalt and Aircross priced at Rs 8.38 lakh, Rs 12.80 lakh and Rs 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.



The Dark Edition models will be available in limited numbers. However, Citroen hasn’t specified the exact number of vehicles it plans to build.



The new Dark Edition models feature an all-black exterior in Perla Nera Black, dark chrome grille, body mouldings and dark chrome badges.



Inside, the Dark Edition models come with a Carbon Black colour scheme. The cars get Metropolitan Black leatherette seats with Lava Red details.



This is a purely cosmetic package, and no mechanical changes have been made to the C3, Basalt and the Aircross.

I don't understand why Citroen is still trying to capture the private vehicle market. The C3 & BASALT would make excellent Taxis owing to their amazing Ride, Handling and Suspension and especially the Rear Seat adjustment and humungous Boot of the BASALT.

Citroen should honestly Pivot and focus with all their might on the Taxi market that is Currently ruled by the WagonR, Dzire & Ertiga. That Base model of the BASALT with the Comfortable Ride, space and Huge boot would be a Cabbies & Taxi Riders dream.

The BASALT is a Spiritual Successor to the venerable Ambassador. From some angles it even looks like a modern Ambassador SUV.

At the end of the day, its about making money.

Now I know why the brand is failing. And for no fault of Citroen.

Chennai. At the old HM-Mitsubishi plant on the outskirts of Chennai city. That plant was taken over by PSA from the Birla's and thoroughly revamped for Citroen operations.

Surprising. Was there a couple of months back and they were extremely courteous. On a side note, the dark edition cars are supposedly special editions that are going to be rolled out in very limited numbers. However, with the Aircross sales barely crossing 200 units in March (similarly abysmal figures for all their models unfortunately), how much more "limited" can Citroen get, I wonder?

Good to see that they got rid of that horrible dashboard design only suitable in cheap and quirky cars (like Kwid, maybe?)

Honestly, they should've launched this and more colours in the beginning instead of bland white.
