Jeep has launched the Compass Sandstorm Edition in India. The limited edition SUV is available in three trims: Sports, Longitude and Longitude (O). It costs Rs 49,999 over the standard variant.



The Compass Sandstorm Edition gets several new feature additions. The SUV is equipped with front and rear dash cams, programmable ambient lighting, premium seat covers, carpet and cargo mats.



On the outside, the limited edition version sports Sandstorm-themed decals on the hood and sides. It also gets a special Sandstorm badge.



The entry-level Sports trim costs Rs 19.49 lakh, while the Longitude and Longitude (O) variants cost Rs 22.83 and Rs 25.33 lakh, respectively. The Sandstorm Edition gets an automatic transmission option in the Longitude (O) trim. It is priced at Rs 27.33 lakh (ex-showroom).

Jeep has to understand a basic fact that no one wants to pay a premium for an outdated product. Compass was launched in 2017 and has received bare minimum updates (lets not factor the interior update a few years ago); To remain relevant, they should make the car more desirable via sensible pricing. I do not want to pay a premium for a car that is outdated now. Roxx does everything at half the price and better specs.

I guess all tricks to clear up inventory before launching next-gen Jeep Compass. Hope new launch helps in numbers else not sure how long will it sustain in India.

Hmm. New boss old tricks. Miss that American accent boss who opened his mouth and showed us all how out of touch he and this brand is in terms of figuring out their target buyers.

At this rate we might see a new Compass sometime around 2030.

No doubt Compass is dying a slow death. At least Jeep should stop this shenanigans and maintain the class of Compass. Sad to see from an owner's perspective.

Says a lot about having your ears to the ground when the customer is asking for a wider range of products and better pricing and you release something which will be bought by customers you could count on your fingers.

Like what are see in XUV, ScorpioN (black editions) etc, there will be some festive demand now and Jeep is trying to offer a few hundred 'immediate delivery' models that would have a 50K premium over regular variants.
