Underscored in the looks department. It looks awfully close to many other cars that are already on the roads, in any angle one may view it.

For R Line, Red hot stance is a crucial deciding factor along with performance.

Isn’t R Line supposed to be sporty? Then why those unwanted chrome elements. It really looks out of place. Don’t understand VW recent fascination with chrome.
And alloys looks sad too. Where are those clean 5 spoke or multi spoke alloys. This looks more like a wheel cap.

Looks like it has heated seats but not cooling facility! (What a miss!!)

I am sure that Volkswagen has a mechanism in place to make people feel cool by turning on heating in western and southern part of India (pun intended)

Honestly speaking, interiors look too dull for a car in this class, category, atleast in photos. In-person experience might be different. There is no contrast treatment on dashboard as well as doors, seats. Even Virtus GT has some contrast elements.

The more I see of this new body style for the new Tiguan, the more I kind of find it ‘Korean’ and not distinctive at all. The previous generation had more character with the angular design and classic straight lines. The rear especially looks ‘too busy’ for my liking.

A fully kitted version of R Line (which we are expected to get) is about 58K Pounds in the UK, which is upwards of 60L rupees. Being CBU, taxes are going to be quite high.

I am curious to see how VW will price this.

From what I have heard, the new Kodiaq is set to launch a few days after the Tiguan R. So its best to wait and see pricing of both. The Kodiaq would definitely make more sense as it is the bigger SUV of the two.

But, why would you want to sell a fantastic car like the Virtus GT just after a year?

Thanks, Dippy.. Yes, that is the conundrum. It's certainly not as premium as a Tiguan or a Kodiaq. The lack of features like in a Hyundai/ Kia, plus an average AC, no 360 degrees camera and some occasional rattling sounds are some of the reasons for considering a Tiguan. Of course, shall wait for the pricing. Look forward to more thoughts from you and others.

By fully kitted do you mean the 265hp engine ? I did the configuration in the UK site and found that the version coming to India is about 48K Pounds, I believe it includes the 18% VAT levied there. Word on the street is this will be priced about 48 Lacs.
