Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz likely to be discontinued by April 2025

Hi All,

I currently own 2017 Ciaz Alpha 1.3 DDIS completed 75000 km till now. The 1.3 Diesel is a gem of engine. In bumper to bumper traffic, the open turbo makes more noise but once its reaches above 80kmph its runs butter smooth. I cruised maximum upto 140 kmph, the stability of the car and power output is fantastic. Also the top variant which I own, has Auto dimming IRVM, Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Ciaz is VFM and periodic service doesn't make big holes to the pocket. I don't have idea of selling the car and planning to hold for as many years I can.

Thanks,
Prabu

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz likely to be discontinued by April 2025

In Karnataka, I've noticed government officials commonly use the facelifted base variant of the 4th-gen Honda City. These cars are finished in Pearl White and carry number plates in the KA XX G XXXX format, where I believe 'G' signifies government registration.

Also, a lot of sales were from the commercial fleet orders. In private vehicle sales, it suffered badly after the pandemic.

Curious as to which car would replace this car in the govt sarkaar category. Most of the sales that this car received was from govt officials.

Maruti Suzuki confirms the discontinuation of Ciaz. The brand named could return in a different body style, similar to the Baleno transitioned to its current form.

Maruti's Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales:

With respect to the Ciaz, we have taken a call that we need to stop the production and then again we will be taking a call based on market requirements

676 sales in March 25 with an ancient but reliable product. Now being phased out.

Will miss the long Ciaz! It redefined comfort in the luxury cab segment.

The CIAZ commands a good price in the used car market, and the petrol variant was a very low-maintenance vehicle in the sedan category. Personally, this was the car that invoked an interest in me in Maruti cars.
