Kia has launched the updated Seltos for the 2025 model year. The SUV is available in eight new variants across both petrol and diesel versions. Prices range from Rs 11.13 lakh to Rs 20.50 lakh (ex-showroom).



The Kia Seltos is now available in 24 variants in total. These include three new trims: HTE (O), HTK (O) and HTK+ (O).

The HTE (O) variant comes with an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity, a 6-speaker audio system, steering-mounted audio controls, LED DRLs and connected LED taillights.

The HTK (O) variant is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a rear wiper, washer and defogger, cruise control and a Mood lamp. It also gets a Smart Key with Motion Sensor.

The HTK+ (O) variant features 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps with sequential LED turn signals, LED fog lamps, auto folding ORVMs, a Mood lamp and a Smart Key with Motion Sensor.

Engine and transmission options remain unchanged. The SUV is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol paired with a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre diesel that is offered with either a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic.

I am wondering what's a smartkey with motion sensor? What does it detect? Or is it a classic case of Kia's 'marketing'?

If the Sonet and the Syros didn't exist, we could have expected the IVT in the base 1.5 NA petrol at 12.4 lakh ex showroom (based on the 1.4 lakh gap between HTK+ manual and IVT) making it the most value for money automatic vehicle this side essentially killing the Renault, Nissan and Honda CVT offerings. When the Seltos is struggling vis a vis its sister car the Creta, Kia should have gone all out and offered us a HTE(O) IVT aswell especially since most of us are now tired of the daily traffic blocks and increasing leg pain issues associated with manual.

I think it's high time all manufacturers should provide an automatic option in lower variants as well. HTK(O) trim with IVT would have been a great option since it has all the necessary features.

HTX(O) is renamed Gravity variant as per my interaction with Kia SA without dashcam. HTX(O) is just there to fill price gap and as @Col_Mehta would say is not true top end IVT like Creta SX(O) IVT. Kia India management thinks these high priced variants would sell, but in-real life most people would put additional ₹90k and get top end Creta IVT compared to Seltos HTX(O) IVT.

The SAs themselves are not inclined to sell Indigo colored interiors and have pushed me towards HTX with beige interior or GTX+ when I ask for a picture of Indigo colored interiors.

My better half was waiting for the new Seltos which was likely to be an EV as well but as soon as she heard that the new one would be in Hybrid clothing, she has now reluctantly decided to give up her new-ish Seltis and get a Windsor instead! The falling sales data from KIA do not inspire much confidence as resale value has really plummeted as well.

Remember that car-maker - like any capitalist venture - is a profit centric business. Its also important for them that the customers feel compelled to buy a higher trim for a necessary feature like the automatic transmissions. Its the higher trims that bring more margins for them, not the lower ones.

Lower trims are to pull customers to the showrooms. Sales teams are employed not to offer you coffee but to convince you to buy the higher trim eventually . And we do.

Hello blogslogger, I have it in my car, and the motion sensor makes a difference. When I walk toward the car, it kind of 'greets' me by unfolding the side mirrors automatically. And when I lock it and walk away, they fold back in. It happens every time I come close or move away from the car with the Key fob in my pocket, which is pretty neat. It’s super convenient, plus it has keyless entry and remote engine start button. You can precool your car with AC ON for certain time before getting into it. It's a boon on hot days. Honestly, it just makes life easier

I believe that has always been there as 'Welcome Mirror' the same as my GTX. I was hoping it was something like Honda or MG's walk away unlock. But thank you for the explanation.

This motion sensor key stops emitting signals if it remains stationary for a certain period of time. This a safety feature as well as should help to save some battery.

I haven't done it myself, but I've heard it makes a big difference, especially on long drives.

Kia and hyundai are loading their cars with features with every upgrade. I think kia was the one who created a revolution in the Indian market by packing their cars with a lot of features.
