Correct. The ’new’ motion sensor key detects the car’s motion. If it doesn’t, apparently the car turns off. This is sort of an advanced immobiliser kinda thingy. However, I’m not sure about this battery saver feature though.

The primary objective of this is ‘safety’.

This is a good update, as the base Seltos HTE(O) now has DRLS and a touchscreen compared to the base Creta.

Still, like many people have said, a HTE(O) or HTK(O) IVT would have been a huge seller, as a base automatic. Its 2025, its time we start offering more automatics in the lower variants.

Also at launch, there was a GTK variant of the Seltos. It was only sold for one year, but it was essentially the HTK+ with LED headlights, the 1.4 Turbo(In 2019) and was Manual only.
Kia could reintroduce this GTK trim, by essentially giving the current HTK+ (O) the 1.5 Turbo engine, and some sportier wheels. The interior can stay the same. This can compete with the Creta N Line N8 variant. An ex-showroom price of 15-16 Lakh, or maximum 17 would be a good price.

Delete the HTK and HTK+ variants now, because they seem useless. HTE(O) and HTK now are the same thing. And hopefully this GTK variant instead of the HTK+ iMT. There is no point of having 1 variant for one engine. Either put the GTK, or add the 1.5 Turbo to the HTK+ (O) or HTX trim.

But at the end of all this, the facelift is coming. Hope they introduce base automatics then.
