Maruti Suzuki's premium sub 4m SUV coming

Maruti Suzuki is working on a new premium sub-4M SUV - A premium Fronx?

Likely to take on Kia Syros. and will be retailed through the regular Maruti’s Arena network.

Quote:
Maruti Suzuki is set to shake up the sub-4M SUV segment with a premium, feature-rich model boasting hybrid technology.

The new SUV is expected to be launched around the festive season of 2025 and will likely offer a more premium styling and advanced features compared to its existing counterparts.

What sets this upcoming SUV apart is its expected design inspiration from the Grand Vitara. Maruti Suzuki could position this new model as a more sophisticated alternative, offering superior comfort, premium features, and enhanced performance. While Brezza caters to traditional SUV buyers and Fronx appeals to crossover enthusiasts, this new model will likely be positioned as a feature-loaded premium SUV, challenging the competition head-on.

A major highlight of this sub-4-metre SUV could be its strong hybrid powertrain, potentially making it the first of its kind in its segment. This move aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s strategy to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions while catering to the growing preference for hybrid vehicles among Indian consumers.

It is strange that a premium version of Fronx is being retailed through the Arena network instead of the Nexa network. Syros is being touted as a premium car (compared to Syros), and this approach might not help Maruti Suzuki much in going head-to-head against the likes of Syros.

Is this the Y43 code Punch rival/ Ignis successor? With extra premium features to justify the hybrid price premium?

Or just a premium Fronx like what the XL6 is to Ertiga? But with hybrid option.

Would be welcome if it is indeed a direct rival to Syros. A Syros shaped Maruti with hybrid engine would be great. Minus the stupid flush door handles and corner mounted lights.

Re: Maruti Suzuki's premium sub 4m SUV coming

Maruti need not pitch the "premium" tag.
Reliable sources say that the series hybrid Fronx is regularly returning insane fuel efficiency figures in real life driving. Apparently Maruti has a target to get hybrid Fronx certified for 35kmpl by ARAI. A target which, as per the grapevine, will be comfortably met, may be even exceeded.

So, even if in real life the series hybrid Fronx returns 22-23kmpl+ in city driving , can you imagine the impact it will have on sales?
And Maruti also will be back to what it does best: be the king of the "kitna deti hain?" brigade!

Likely to be the series hybrid with features matching the Kia Syros.

Ignis replacement for the European market will be a BEV (sibling of Toyota's bZ1X )

Is this Maruti Suzuki's upcoming premium SUV?

Speculations:
- 1.2L turbo petrol, 6 MT
- 1.2L Series Hybrid
- Segment above Fronx

Wait, what!? a 1.2L Turbo petrol? Based on the Z12? That would be terrific!? Makes a lot of sense for the Brezza too which currently doesn't get the <4M tax-benefit.

Wasn't this pic shared as the 7 seater Grand Vitara one?

Was expecting the 1.4l turbo petrol to make an entry, but if its a 1.2l turbo petrol, so be it. Something better than nothing. And at last a 6 speed manual from Maruti.

The Pics in the 7-seater GV thread itself is in question, as it has many views of it being e Vitara or some other vehicle.
