Honda ZRV hybrid coming to India

Received an inside information from the Honda dealer.

Honda ZRV e:HEV coming soon to India.

These pics were taken by the dealership staff at an annual dealer convention 2025, which is conducted internally, by Honda Cars India.

Though not sure about the features and technical specifications yet, I assume this thing looks promising. It will sell in decent numbers, if priced competitively.

Hope, Honda Cars India brings back its mojo with a strong lineup.

Is this the same HRV, which is been in sold in USA market?

The similar car has been owned by my cousin sister in USA though hers is non-Hybrid and was bought as the replacement for CRV.

Been hearing it for five plus years now.

Ofcourse, with the below average reception for the Elevate (not to say the stupid move of not offering hybrid in the Elevate) and City losing to rivals (unthinkable a few years ago) they really have to bring in new models. Is this one of the five SUVs that Honda said would come before 2030?

There are 2-3 versions around the world. One global, one USA centric model and both versions sold in China. Also the HR-V(?) is sold as Z-RV in some markets.

That's excellent news! I hope Honda introduces this car with a new engine. Maybe a 2L petrol or a 1.8L turbo. Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_ZR-V) says this car shares it's platform with the Civic. Can we expect a Civic launch on the cards? That would be a blast!

Although looks are subjective, I feel this is one of the best looking cars around. The front grill seems to be inspired by Maserati!

Very strange. If they thought HR-V wouldn't succeed in India, why would this? This is priced higher than the HR-V in some markets where both are sold together. Very Chinese looking front face though.

Can their Rajasthan factory support the production of this model or would this mean the restart of the Greater Noida one? Hope all the excitement isn't killed by a last minute cancellation by Honda.

Only engines aren't going to be enough for Honda now. I was in the market for a new car in December and I can tell you that Koreans --> German / Czech --> every other manufacturer is the order in which you will like the interior fit- finish / features + engine / tranny combo + build. I own an Elantra and i only liked Creta / Verna in terms of fit and finish followed closely by VW / Skoda.

Everything else was such a let down. Even the Maruti Grand Vitara had better interiors than the Elevate. The City was better than elevate in every aspect but still feels decades old (though love the engine).Interiors of cars to me is where you end up spending most of the time so those top my list.

Sad state at Honda - once considered a premium brand, it's fallen so far down in the race today that it wont even do the VW / Skoda numbers.

I had the opportunity to rent one and drive it in Dubai last year in Aug. This was 1.5 litre turbo CVT. It was decent, although the looks are polarising, it grew on me over the course of 10 days.

This is a GAC-Honda partnership model, fully designed and built by GAC in China. In fact, even the international models are made in China. Everything about the car was designed for the Chinese market, one of the reasons why they don't have the Honda's straight lines.

It's a good car (good Honda powertrain) but overpriced. I don't think anyone will consider that price if it was marketed as GAC.

Well, if they were to launch this, then why bring the Elevate?
Or maybe did Honda want to position their Hybrid offerings at a premium level, and that wouldnt have been possible with Elevate?

This is just Honda being Honda.

I think Elevate will sit below the ZRV. Elevate if I'm not wrong is the HRV in the international market. Honda confused the names HRV and ZRV for the US market and that's an another discussion altogether!

Yes that was what I said. Honda wanted hybrids to sit at a higher level and that wouldnt be possible with elevate, and hence this move maybe.

ZRV (this Aston Martin faced one) is sold as the HRV in some markets and sold together separately (ZRV and the regular HRV) as well in other select markets. Elevate is the WRV for the international markets.

It's £40000 in the UK. They aren't able to sell a 25lac Hybrid City in our country. Neither could they sell a 45lac Hybrid Accord.

I wonder at what price would they launch it here?!
