Re: 4th-gen Skoda Superb to debut at Bharat Mobility Expo

The detailed talk of Siddarth Vinayak Patankar with Petr Janeba puts the timeline as follows:
  1. Kodiaq - Production start by mid February and deliveries to start by end April. Will be CKD. They call it "Parts and Components" car.
  2. Superb - To be CBU and will be launched by September. Initially will be FWD Petrol and then slowly, may be next year will launch Diesel.
  3. Octavia RS - 50 units to be brought in. Tentatively to be launched by September.

Nah! Still doesn't make sense. Even after looking at all the shine and glitter, I don't understand why would someone buy a Skoda for 50 - 60L when one can get Audis, BMWs and Mercs? I don't own any of these but wouldn't assume Skoda to be better (driving dynamics, engine refinement, fit and finish, reliability) than them.

Latest gen Superb L&K at 45L OTR makes "superb" sense. The equivalent cars are A6 (70L), 330Li (75L).
Skoda is value package without the badge.

Where is this 45L OTR for new Superb L&K coming from? Previous gen was relaunched last year in India at 54L ex-showroom.

https://www.team-bhp.com/news/skoda-...dia-rs-54-lakh

The new Superb will be a CBU just like the previous gen.

.
And then was discounted at 18L on the Ex-Showroom. Similar story happened with Polo GTI, VRS230 and 245.

Going by past trends, this is what I see will happen. A batch of 100 will be brought in as CBU and launched at ridiculous rate. Then in 3 months it will be discounted.

Re: 4th-gen Skoda Superb to debut at Bharat Mobility Expo

What happened to the individual Superb Diesel and the Octavia RS displayed at the mobility expo last month? Are they in use in any dealership, or at Chakan, or are they sent back? What is the status of those two units?
