I am really curious to know whether anyone bought this car at 54L! If that be so, how cheated he or she must be feeling when these massive discounts are offered. I think auto companies must exercise more judgement before pricing imported CBUs.

Although I agree that in open market there isn't much in control if an item we bought gets devalued badly, the debacle with this Superb pricing cannot be seen as one.

Similar other car is the Nissan Xtrail.

With this whole exercise they just destroyed the brand's trust in people, and most likely the most loyal ones. And Skoda gained nothing. Unbelievable management decisions!

New Skoda Superb to make India debut at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Diesel likely to make a comeback in the new superb for India.

The fourth-gen Superb will be launched in India as a full import sometime next year.

- Will be expensive as the units will be fully imported and CKD kits are ruled out.

Has anybody been able to get a quote from a dealer? This seems like a good deal to me esp if I plan to change the car in 3 years again, the resale will still be significant ?

Skoda did this with Octavia vRS245 couple of years back and now with Superb. Launching the cars at exorbitant price and remove VFM quotient from these cars.


Skoda still has not learnt to launch their premium offerings at right prices except Kodiaq. Skoda gets greedy expecting people to buy the overpriced car, then spread news that the cars are sold out and by year end the same cars are offered at huge discounts to clear inventory.

I understand the price would be high as Superb was CBU. If Skoda is able to offer ₹18 lakh on CBU, then I assume the company is still getting some profit out of the sale.


If someone can stretch budget to ₹54lakh, then they would buy Mercedes, BMW or Audi for the brand name and not a Skoda. I have not looked at breakup of CBU car to see how much money government gets from GST that is included in ex-showroom price.

The exteriors are timeless, but the interiors fully look the part of a model that is nearly 10 years old in the market. Previous generation Skoda Superbs are going begging at ridiculously low prices, with no one interested in buying them. I would be cautions about buying this car when we are nearly in 2025, as I see a similar value drop once newer generation makes it here.

No car in this price bracket would have great resale in 3 years - the higher you go, the harder the hit. For that, the used car market is a better option.

The Superb, already over priced with the new model expected to launch in India soon is going to be a depreciation disaster. At the moment 3 yr old Superbs, with super low mileage, are trading hands below 30L in Mumbai.

Instead I'd splurge on an A6/330Li and keep it for 6 years, or even consider the new Camry if Total Cost of Ownership is important.

You will still be paying about 46-48L on road when the last batch of India made Superbs sold at 35L. The only difference is DCC in the CBU.

I think 2021 models are more like 25L or below.
