Voted for Maruti Dzire.

It is the ultimate common man's car and a solid differentiation from the Swift give it a distinct character of its own. Will likely be the top seller in this list as well.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2024 | EDIT: It's the Thar Roxx

Voted for Gurkha and surprised that I am the first one. My reasoning:

1. No nonsense true 4X4 with Homologated accessories which visually is screaming to the world its character as an off-road vehicle.

2. If given a choice to choose between Wrangler and G Wagon, I would any day choose G wagon. Since both are not in my budget, I would choose a G wagon inspired car ( Gurkha ) over Wrangler inspired car ( Thar ).

3. 4X4 cars are always a 2nd or 3 rd car in the garage. There is no need to do its duties on highway with automatic transmission etc. My son is seriously considering a 2nd car in USA in addition to Audi A5 which is low hugging and is pretty much useless when going on hiking. He badly needs a true 4X4 which does its duties and affordable in such special circumstances. I felt Gurkha would fit the requirement ( not available in USA though ).

4. Gurkha is my dream vehicle as it has Mercedes blood flowing in it. Unfortunately it is not commercialised as a mass production which is the exact reason for my liking. I want my car to be unique which I think is what everyone wishes.

5. In USA, I had seen many huge 4X4 trucks with road hugging sport suspension and fat tyres. I don't understand why they do it. I feel that there is no need to make a 4X4 vehicle to do other duties. Similarly, it makes no sense ( why we have RWD version for a 4X4 vehicle ? )

Voted Thar Roxx

Mahindra's attention to detail in blending heritage with modern technology is commendable. Mahindra has upped their game like anything, year after year belting out amazing products. They deserve this trophy.

Voted for Thar ROXX and not surprised by the results so far, people who have driven it will realise this is a completely different vehicle as compared to the Thar and kudos to Mahindra for that.

Voted for the MG Windsor. Seems to be the most VFM package launched this year. Also, MG turning over a new leaf with the entry of JSW.

I'm sure the entry of JSW gives many like me the much-needed confidence to ever opt for a MG vehicle. Personally not looking for an EV anytime soon, but if I was, the Windsor would have been my top choice.

Voted for the Dzire. A true all-rounder from MSIL. The Dzire is a stunner in the looks department and adequately loaded with features. Add to it Maruti's reliability and service network. The 5 star safety rating is the cherry on the cake. All in all it offers an unbeatable value proposition.
In my opinion too much has been spoken about BoF SUVs in recent years - Thars, Jimnys, Scorpions and the likes. Will be nice to see a Sedan on the top step of the podium this year.

Voted for Thar Roxx. Big big improvement over the 3D in each and every aspect.

It is the car which can now serve all the needs - family, tourer, off-roader.

Got it last week and it replaces my Endeavour 3.2 and Thar 3D petrol. It is 60-70% of what Ford Endeavour was

Voted for Thar Roxx as Mahindra has leap frogged in many areas and set a benchmark for others to follow. Mahindra gave us a go-anywhere 4 door family car without losing the essential character in Thar Roxx. It is a grand feat of design and engineering. The crazy bookings resonate why it deserves to be the car of the year.

Voted for Mahindra Thar Roxx. Just love the looks and macho styling. Decision made easier. No second thoughts.

If ROXX wasn't there in the list would have voted for Maruti Dzire. Good looking and first time 5 star rated maruti.

Voted Citroën Basalt, Thar Roxx was my second pick, but since I prefer on-road more than off-road, and the Basalt being a good, sorted drivers car, just had to pick this

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2024 | EDIT: It's the Thar Roxx

Voted for the Thar Roxx. A no-brainer vote. Looking at the poll results at the moment, another banger from Mahindra. Pretty sure next year's COTY is going to be either of the born electrics from Mahindra.

On a side note, I wonder why the 3XO isn't on the list. It has undergone a significant overhaul in terms of sheet metal changes as well as powertrain and cosmetic changes. Would have chosen the 3XO if it was on this list.

For me this was a call between the Thar Roxx and MS Dzire. Looking at it from the aspect of being relevant to more customers and step up from the preceding generation, my vote goes for the Dzire.

Voted for Force Gurkha 5 Door. With all its shortcomings, it is still the 'most eye catching' on-road and an absolute beast off-road. Those who can, must own this vehicle

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2024 | EDIT: It's the Thar Roxx

I currently drive a 2013 model Dzire Vxi. Now that I'm based in NCR, I'm in the market for a new car and, interestingly, I've decided on the new Dzire.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a my choice for below reasons:
  • Affordability: The Dzire is well-priced, offering good value for money with prices ranging from ~ ₹7 lakh to ~₹10 lakh
  • Fuel Efficiency: It boasts impressive fuel efficiency, with an ARAI rating of 25.71 km/l for the AMT, 24.79 km/l for the MT, and 33.73 km/kg for the CNG variant
  • Safety: The Dzire has received a 5-star safety rating from GNCAP and comes equipped with six airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all occupants, a 360-degree camera, ESP, hill-hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts
  • Comfort and Features: It offers a comfortable ride with a well-designed interior, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen system, automatic LED headlamps, LED DRLs, cruise control, rear A/C vents, and wireless charging
  • City-Friendly: Its compact size, light controls, and excellent drivability make it ideal for city driving
  • Reliability and Maintenance: Maruti Suzuki's widespread service network ensures hassle-free maintenance and strong resale value.

Not able to vote as a newbie but, it would be Roxx from my side too. Special honours to Windsor.
