I do not think AMT is going anywhere, atleast for the hatchbacks/notchbacks in the TATA lineup.

Remember that AMT is a cost effective answer to urban requirement of convenience, and adding a TC/CVT , no matter how much we want them to, will make these products much less profitable from sales perspective.

When you look at it from another viewpoint, AMTs have come a long way since inception around 10 years back. Case in point the are the newer AMTs on the new DZire/Swift and the Exter and even the Mahindra 3XO, if one drives these cars and compare them with a first generation AMT like the Gen-1 Celerio or Gen-1 Tiago, one would realize that AMT as a technology has been enhanced so much that for an budget buyer it's nearly as good as a TC in terms of performance and convenience.

The only advantage tiago/tigor has over swift/dzire and i10/aura was the safety. Now that Dzire is the safest in the segment and obviously, spacious than the narrow tiago/tigor, Tata needs the up the game with a next gen on ALFA platform.

Ya, agreed. Owned a Tiago in 2016 before upgrading to Punch in 2022, while the driving dynamics and stability is worth mentioning, the engine is totally disappointing and quality levels are not up to the mark.

I had never imagined that I'll recommend a Maruti over a Hyundai, Tata but the New Dzire is very good on all counts. It's Safe, nice looking, value for money, efficient, spacious, feature packed, reliable and also has better quality than Tata. It'll be hard for Tata to match the New Dzire and Upcoming Amaze once they launch Tigor Facelift and also next gen Tigor.

This was long overdue, Tata should add more width to appeal to a wider audience, not just cosmetic makeover.

Doesn't look like there is much change to the front, at least from the teaser.

This can happen only with a platform change. Hope they quickly shift to the next gen Atlas platform by early 2025.

New alloys, Infotainment with shark fin, LED lamps (front and rear) and perhaps new steering wheel (for EV)? The EV still feels ancient even if they did these updates - they need to update MID, ACC controls, add ventilated seats too; Hope Hyundai electrifies their i10 Nios and force Tata to wakeup. They are feeling complacent. There are some rumors about Tata upgrading the battery pack too and increasing the range across (MR and LR) - but since I heard these from dealer sales team, I'm skeptical.

This should have been how they launched the Tiago EV:

Good to see that it gets ESC on most variants. I was half expecting them to re-engineer it to fit six airbags and offer them as an option, but at the price I can’t complain (also I believe it is the most affordable car with ISOFIX and a centre three-point belt).

It's nice to see the Tiago receiving a facelift. With small cars being neglected these days, it's good to hear news about it's facelift or update.

But what happened to the Tata Altroz? When is it's facelift being launched? Except for the 'Racer' edition last year, the Tata Altroz has been waiting for a proper facelift for so long. It looks like Tata has completely forgotten about the original Altroz, and someone needs to remind them about it.

What the Tiago desperately needs is better interiors. Especially the dashboard which starts rattling and creaking very soon. My Tiago EV is dead silent, is a delight in the city owing to its size and performance , has a more than adequate range, space and boot space but the faint rattles and creaks are irritating.

As per the website these upgrades are for ICE cars only and not for EVs.

I was expecting the Tiago twins were going to be launched on new platform, there by resulting in better battery packs for EV variants.

Altroz EV is no where in news, for me it seems like Altroz is an abandoned product, or getting stepmother treatment.

It seems there are no major cosmetic changes either. I am disappointed, expected more from this facelift than just feature additions.

I have no skin in the sedan game. As a car enthusiast I would mark the new Amaze over the DZire
