Tata Motors slashes iRA-connected tech subscription prices

I own a 2023 (Pre facelift) Tata Safari. My iRA subscription expired in July 2024 and I have not renewed it yet. However, I still had the app installed on my phone, and happened to open it today. The renewal price earlier was about Rs. 3,500 (including tax), but now it is showing as Rs. 1,999 + 18% GST for 1 year.

Did the price for the subscription reduce, or this is just a wooing attempt to get the subscription renewed offered only to me?

I think the subscription price has indeed reduced to 1999 + GST. They are now calling it iRA 2.0. However, older customers would still continue to use the same app.

This would mean that the prices are now slashed by ~33%

Even if they gave it for free I think no one would use it to full potential.

Re: Tata Motors slashes iRA-connected tech subscription prices

Wow! Feeling a bit shortchanged as I renewed my subscription in the 2nd year in August'24 by paying 3.5 k. I do not see much value in this and was intending to drop it by 3rd year. With reduced price, I may think of sticking on.

Looks like lot of people were not renewing subscription and hence the move.

Re: Tata Motors slashes iRA-connected tech subscription prices

I had it in my Tata Punch for the first year but didn't find the features useful.
With so much digital technology around, I expected Tata to upgrade and give more features via the iRA in future but they disappointed. Common Tata, it's simple logic , give more interesting features and we will buy it and advise new buyers also to opt for IRA versions.

Re: Tata Motors slashes iRA-connected tech subscription prices

I saw this couple of months ago. Did not renew my subscription after it expired in June. Found what is offers pretty useless. The only feature I used was the lock and unlock option and that too, only to try it out. Rest of the limited options, found no use of them. My personal opinion is that even with the reduced pricing, it is still way over priced for what it offers.

In my experience with iRA, it does not even show something as basic as odometer reading.

Will be happy to be corrected if I have missed it and others have found it somewhere hidden.

It comes with 1 GB (or 2GB?) data for the year - so if the data gets exhausted before the year is over, the app stops. Where can one see the data consumption, just to keep a tab?

Atleast in the original iRA, there was no ODO. The iRA2 app does have an ODO section on the first page as shown in the image below (I cannot verify if it works, since I don't yet have an active subscription).

The earlier plan said 6 GB data, but the revised plan does not show any data limits. Does anyone know what is the new data limit after price revision?

I am also curious on how to check the data usage. Has anyone ran out of data before the end of a year?

Thanks mate! I had never bothered to check iRA 2.0. I just installed and used it - yes, it does have the ODO now and even fuel status in percentage.

But again, iRA still does not really have a lot of usefulness in general.

Couple of questions:

1. There is an option called "Position" in remote commands. What is it?

2. Someone in thread or elsewhere mentioned starting their AC remotely via iRA. I have never seen that option. Is that available? Basically it'd need to remotely start the car.

TIA
