What a stunning looking car! Competition, especially Hyundai/Creta better watch out along with Mahindra

The car does not follow front fascia design which Tata has used in so many cars now and this is a good thing for new Sierra. The front and side profile design looks classy, boxy shape, flush door handles and might age well (only front and side profile).
The rear looks incomplete and reminds me of Sumo Grande and flat rear reminds me of Mahindra Quanto where rear suddenly ends and has flat view.
I liked the looks of previous alloys (the ones from Safari accomplished variants) more than this new alloy.

Tata needs to put this car on road, test through various terrains, get homologation certificate, create marketing hype and teasers, if they want to launch Sierra ICE anytime this year. I get the feeling that pre-production cars are not completely ready to be taken on-road which is why clay models are being showcased. Tata should not hurry launch like they did with Curvv and resolve all QC and integration issues even if it takes a year more but provide clear timelines when on launch date and test drive availability.

The new Sierra in the silver color looks really cool:

Re: Tata Sierra returning in 2025 in EV and ICE flavours

So what will be the diesel engine variant on the Sierra? They did announce that it's a 2.0L engine. So it means it's a FCA engine that is in used in the Harrier and Safari. But will it be the same? I doubt it. It maybe the detuned FGT engine that came in the intial batches of the Harrier that was rated at 140 bhp and 350 nm torque. This maybe due to the lower weight of the car on ATLAS platform compared to the JLR D8 derived OMEGARC platform. But there is a higher changes that Sierra can also come in the 4x4 avatar.

I figured it'd be the 1.5L Revotorq that's used in the Nexon and Curvv.

They did?
Sierra would compete with Creta and Seltos right. A 2.0L diesel might be overkill for that segment.

I too was expecting that they would go with the 1.5L Revotorq with power bumped up to 140BHP.

Look at the screenshots of the interview with Martin Uhlarik. There are some indicators on the rear bumper that shows that hazard warning lights are placed on the bumper

Mind bogglingly beautiful design! I somehow started hating the Harrier/Safari facelift design (I liked them when they were new), after Tata stamped the same face across their cars from Punch, Nexon and Curvv. This is something Fresh and HOT!

Re: Tata Sierra returning in 2025 in EV and ICE flavours

The irony here is that Sierra will have 4x4 in ICE and not in the EV avatar. The Harrier will have 4x4 in the EV and not in the ICE variant.

Maybe later down Sierra may get the 4x4 in the EV variant, but definitely not the Harrier in the ICE.

Re: Tata Sierra returning in 2025 in EV and ICE flavours

I feel that Vertical Tail lights on the chamfered corner at the rear would have suited this design much better than the thin horizontal light-bar.

The thin strip of a taillamp is what is making this look "unfinished" as many members are feeling.

A flush Vertical taillamp located on that rear chamfer (similar to the Defender) would make it look much more "Butch" and "Off-Roady" and also would have been a nice call back to the original Tata Sumo design rather than the Minimalist Sumo-Grande vibe that we are getting here instead.

You are absolutely right. The vertical tail lamp along with the spare wheel on the boot would make it look so much closer to the OG Sierra.

Anyone well versed with Photoshop who can do a render?

What engine will they be using for 4X4?
I was told it’s 1.5L diesel engine from Nexon, if so just curious can that 1.5L engine handle 4X4 torque and power requirements!!

Re: Tata Sierra returning in 2025 in EV and ICE flavours

I can't help but feel this will be tata's first true entry into the 4+ metre category after the hexa. The harrier safari are great cars but besides the parts and integration there is nothing tata about them from the engines to the transmission to the chassis and suspensions.

Also is it just me or does the sierra look like a more handsome elder brother of the kia syros? Especially the integration of the rear quarter glass with the rear glass.

1.5L is the petrol 4 cylinder unit of the current 1.2L 3 cylinder unit. The diesel will be the 2.0L FCA engine.

Reminding of the Hexa, the last true blue 4X4 SUV made by Tata Motors. I hope they convert the floor pan to make it a monocoque SUV with off road capabilities.
