Absolutely love the front, will age well. It will be a pain to maintain the piano black parte of it though. A Bronco like grille with an embossed fat w-i-d-e SIERRA in the center of it, now that would also have been smashing. Really like how mature and cohesive the Tata design language is shaping up as.

Did Tata inform that it is a rear-wheel drive? I am not able to see any information regarding it or any 4x4 feature.

Rear wheel drive and TATA? That ship has sailed long ago.

The EV model would have an AWD variant alongwith a FWD varaint. The ICE versions would definitely be FWD. Not sure which platform the Sierra is based on (even Hormazd Sorabjee has no clue).

A future RWD TATA would most probably be the Avinya concept model, since it is based on JLR's EMA platform, that is assuming TATA would choose RWD configuration for the base models. Otherwise, the only RWD ICE TATA we can see would be in the CV segment.

Would happily swallow my words if TATA launches the ICE Sierra as RWD/4x4.

Looks smoking hot in that yellow shade!
Somehow I am not so sure about the rear profile (from side), due to the rear spoiler.

Some one in social media already added a rear spare wheel at the back and it look even better !

Agreed saw some videos yesterday.Loved the design.Especially the front looks so Regal. For some reason, I always had this image of Tata that I grew up with, reliable and no nonsense, this car though looks so awesome too.

Can someone tell what is the wheelbase of Sierra? Is it same as Curvv or longer?

Re: Tata Sierra returning in 2025 in EV and ICE flavours

This car is a standout beauty and loaded to the gills. Triple screen set-up at the front with a private screen for the passenger, ventilated seats, ADAS, 19" wheels with discs all around and every creature comfort you can think of. This would create its own segment and would definetely propel Tata Motors to a comfortable second position in the sales chart.
Along with Avinya the times ahead look tough especially for Hyundai and Kia and even for Mahindra in non-ev portfolio.

He clearly explains that the reason why Harrier and Safari don't get the 4X4. Reason is Tata has not altered with the wheelbase of JLR D8 platform and Fiat has not developed a longer drive Shaft for lengthier wheel base. But If Tata Motors manages to come close to the wheel base of the Compass (2636mm), that is almost similar is length (or a little shorter) to the over all length, then it is definitely a possibility. Also the ATLAS platform can be a 4X4 with slight modification.

Well, specs not yet released but maybe get to know soon.

In a recent interview at the Auto Expo 2025, Martin Uhlarik mentions that we'll be seeing/ driving it in about 2 months times. But the car has not been seen testing on road and ARAI validation is too pending. Don't know how will he present it in the front of the Media. Video link posted. Between 5.15 and 5.30 minutes

Re: Tata Sierra returning in 2025 in EV and ICE flavours

Looks like the upcoming Sierra ICE is based on modified X1 aka ATLAS platform like the Curvv. As a current and satisfied Nexon owner, it makes me happy that the legacy of Nexon lives on even in the latest Tata offerings

Anyways, this car shall ensure that Tata finally overtakes Hyundai as the bona fide number 2 car maker in terms of sales. Creta is Hyundai's ONLY ace that is about to meet its biggest threat yet. Finally Sierra maybe the answer to beat Creta

X1 and the Atlas platforms are leagues apart in architecture and are not related. The definition of platform is not just a metal frame or floor pan as before. It defines changes in the metallurgy, crumple zones, structure of wheel arch designs, electric architecture and components and software associates connected technology and all that defines an SDV.

X1 including the AlfaArc platform limits features including the limited wheel well that could not accommodate a tyre size more than 16 inches. That required a lot of modifications to the entire chassis construct. That is the reason they took a decision to start with a clean Sheet of paper where they can weild together the requisite moulds to get the final assembly. The first ever modular architecture made by Tata Motors, the AlfaArc, was a blunder they recognized later and that will not be used in future cars. The ATLAS architecture has made fresh designs that can be accommodating all the short comings of the former and can have cars between 3.99 to 4.6 meters. Maybe the ATLAS is born out of heavy modification to the AlfaArc platform.

Also the Curvv that is 4.3 meters is weighted at 1020 kgs compared to the Nexon that weighs at 1080 kgs for a car that is smaller at 3.99 meters for the base variants. So the Nexon will be lighter by 100 kgs if the boot is chopped off to make it a sub 4 meter car. That is one way to say that there are many metallurgy and sheet metal changes to make it lighter and stiffer and hence is a new platform.

Going by the trends in bookings, upcoming product launches, timings, etc., Mahindra is up there to overtake both Tata and Hyundai to claim the Nr. 2 spot in coming months of 2025.
