For everyone waiting for the duster to launch there's a good chance that it will get pushed to 2026 and even that is a remote possibility. I have it from a good source that Nissans financial troubles (or closure!!) are going to be an issue for Renault considering that Nissan is the engine maker for them.

The Duster is a fantastic product. I still remember how desirable the first-generation Duster was during the launch. Everybody aspired for one. If Renault price it right and kit it up on par with the segment, the have a winner in their hands.

I just hope Renault launches the AWD version simultaneously with the FWD variants. And not make AWD fans wait for another 2 years for its launch. Awareness about AWD is growing quite strongly and the "weekend off-roading/trail driving" gentry will be willing to pick up an AWD Duster. This time Renault need not worry about low sales of AWD's.

Yes. It created the 4.3 metre, 10lakh rupees soft roader segment. Renault never followed it up. And the CRETA came in and stole the show.
Another forgotten hero is the Ford EcoSport. Progenitor of the sub-4m crossover class. Now Nexon rules the roost.

Nissan ain't the engine maker for their 1.3 Turbo (HR13) as it will be produced locally in their Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai.

And the engine is already been producing in India market for the previous duster/Kicks.

Nissan India also said there is no impact in India business as they're on track with adding more human resource in their plant.

They also never announced they will launch them in 2025, probably 2026 mid or end considering no attempt of teaser from Nissan/Renault till now.

The interiors look very basic and utilitarian. I hope Renault spruces up the interiors and does not make the same mistake they did with Duster again.
Duster with basic interiors may not sell well as competition has moved ahead in 4.3m crossover SUV segment. This segment has so many options available, and each car has 10+ variant spread to cater to different types of customers.


Duster brought all the interest to crossover SUV segment and generated lot of interest in initial years of launch. Renault slacked and did not give proper upgrades to Duster, eventually killing a very good product.


The new Duster has been available in international market for couple of months now and yet Renault is delaying launch in India.

This will be definitely true. Renault practically created this monocoque SUV market with Duster, then got lazy by not providing any update to Duster expecting the car would sell well and practically handed over the market to Creta from 2016 onwards.


Renault has not learnt anything after being in India for more than a decade now. Renault did not launch Duster 2021 facelift or 2022 refresh model in India or give any interior updates in Duster.
Launching out of date models and treating Indian car market as third world market will not help them remain relevant. There will be lot more 4.2 meter SUV options available by 2026 and anyone interested would have already purchased other SUV by that time and would not remember Duster.
