Volkswagen Virtus records highest monthly sale in October

Volkswagen announces to have achieved its highest-ever monthly sales of 2,351 units of Volkswagen Virtus in October 2024, marking a 32% growth compared to last October 2023 and having surpassed 50,000 domestic sales in just 28 months: driving a 9% overall sales increase for Volkswagen India.

Commenting on the milestone, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “The success of the Volkswagen Virtus in the Indian market is a clear reflection of our customers’ trust and confidence in the brand’s commitment to quality, safety, and performance. The Virtus has not only redefined the premium sedan segment but has also set new standards with its driving dynamics, comfort, safety features, and striking design. We are immensely grateful for the incredible love our cars have received from Indian customers and look forward to amplifying their aspirations with exciting experiences.”

Good to see, if I have a budget of 30 lakhs OTR, Virtus GT would be the car that I pick.
Also I sincerely hope that this increase in sales is across that sedan segment and not just Virtus. Sedans should sell more.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus records highest monthly sale in October

VW Virtus has cemented its place as the best selling sedan since April this year. It seems to have almost ticked all the right boxes. Offers almost everything that a sedan buyer looks forward plus increased ground clearance, just right for Indian roads. Availability of multiple variants spread over broad price range also helps. If VW can gradually upgrade and bring in some more refinement based on customer feedback, then it can further increase the sales by wooing the buyer in the non existant 25 - 30 lakh sedan space.

Virtus is undoubtedly the prettiest car in the segment. I really wish Sedans to stay because that’s how a car is supposed to appear.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus records highest monthly sale in October

If a car is good, it will find buyers even if it is a sedan in a market crowded with SUVs. Amongst lakhs of car buyers in the market, there are more than enough takers for sedans even today so if a product is good value, it will find its footing and might even create a trend.
