Excellent! Probably Nissan is the only manufacturer that isn't doing this blatant cost cutting of removing the load sensors! This should be advertised!

Congratulations! Hope it serves you for many lakhs of km! It is indeed value for money. Do let us know your thoughts on the performance of 1.0 naturally aspirated engine with AMT. Some had complained it was too slow and jerky.

I think this cannot be your only car but this can be a good second car/ something used just for the city or very occasionally on highways as it’s safe and enough safety tech.

The engine doesn’t feel underpowered outright but since I’m used to driving other cars that are more powerful it makes this less enthusiastic and more commuter like.

For 90% of time while in city/highways the NVH is pretty low it’s only when the engine is red lined it feels noisy and classic 3 cylinder noise enters.

If it’s just 1-2 people on board you’ll feel that engine has sufficient power and wont complain much it builds speed pretty quickly and effortlessly but if 4 people + steep incline and you quickly want to overtake that’s where the AMT disappoints it gets confused what to do and makes the engine red line and the noise can be heard inside the cabin. That’s the major con of AMT while in city it’s good conviniance but in some really tricky edge cases it feels slow with shifts and hence it feels to be slow but manual mode helps in such cases.

NOTE: Also I’ve observed that the AMT is designed for maximum efficiency it always upshifts quite early (after 55 kmph it’ll be in 5th gear) and hesitates to downshift and that what makes people perceive it as slow although it’s quite good in manual mode like it doesn’t upshift automatically unless you do so.

Re: 2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift : A Close Look

Earlier I had complained about the car's looks in the unveiling thread, but for now, I would like to take my words back, as the real world pictures look 10x better than the media pics from the preview. Still, I can't make peace with the interior colour scheme and the tacky tail lamp.

Re: 2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift : A Close Look

Based on the numbers from Motoroctane, the NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels in the Magnite seem to have improved significantly, marginally better than Nexon and Brezza (marginally). However, competitors like Mahindra and Skoda still offer better overall NVH in the under 20 lakh range.

The paint quality is commendable, show that Nissan has put effort into enhancing this area.

While the 0-100 acceleration is decent, it doesn't quite match the punch of the Citroen C3.

As MotorInc reports, the vehicle's weight has increased by 80 kg, which raises hope of it improving from a 4-star to a 5-star safety rating—though this remains a hope.

I'm still unsure about the after-sales service quality, despite JD Power ranking Nissan third in India for customer satisfaction.

Some points that I have observed in the past 20 odd days:
Damn, that colour looks awesome!
Congratulations on your new car, wishing you many more miles & happy memories!

Re: 2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift : A Close Look

@Aditya and @Tensor thanks for your reviews. I'm considering this or the new Dzire as a replacement for my Aria, with use case being city school runs in dense traffic. Will be chauffeur driven so MT or AMT is ok. If both fail the use case then I'll look at the Fronx / Brezza.

Have a few questions, in order of priority:

1. How's the backseat ingress egress and comfort? Can 3 sit abreast? I suspect not 2 adults and 1 child perhaps. Is the backseat recline angle alright, is it adjustable?
2. How's the ride quality at low speeds, especially for senior citizens
3. Is it E20 compliant?
4. How's the AC effectiveness?
5. Fuel efficiency? For the NA version
6. Are the LED headlights with projectors? Or LED in reflectors? How's the light scatter and throw?

I'll eventually post a question thread in the What Car forum but thought of asking here as well. Thanks.

1. Ingress and Egress is good unlike sedans or hatchbacks as it’s a crossover (or SUV ) 1758mm is the width, It can seat 3 adults as it’s not too narrow but do note that the center passenger doesn’t get headrest, so I’d consider that as 2 adults if driven for extended periods.
Also this is wider than desire by about 23mm.
It also has 3 point seat belts for all 5 passengers with iso-fix anchors in rear.
Recline angle is fixed but it’s comfortable.

2. As I mentioned in my earlier post the suspension is soft at low speeds which makes the low speed city drives better than pre facelift which was quite firm.

3. The SA said it’s E20 complaint but I couldn’t find it officially in the website but mechanically it’s the same since 2020 so I don’t think there will be any issues.

4. AC is a chiller works well it also has something called plasma ioniser with PM 2.5 filter.

5. From my limited testing, in Bangalore bumper to bumper traffic it returns an average of 7-8 kmpl but if the roads open up with less traffic it easily goes up to 20 kmpl (23 kmpl was the max I saw in the cluster inside city) push it hard and it’ll drop to 4-5 kmpl. (The mileage figures stated are with AC turned on).

6. It gets Projector LEDs, the intensity and spread is great at night.

Re: 2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift : A Close Look

I took delivery of my new Tekna+ cvt turbo variant on 8th of Jan25. My initial reaction on the vibration and kind of a whistling noise was puzzling me. Dealer has no clue as to how to pacify me. Is it normal for all 3 cylinder 999cc engines. Since I was driving Honda city in the last 15 years am i biased in understanding other cars? Can some Magnite experienced owners throw some light. Thanks

I don't know why, but I am yet to spot any new ones after the facelift. Is there any production issue?

Not a Magnite owner, but have the Kiger CVT which has the same engine and transmission. Vibrations are going to be felt all over with 3 cylinders, but whistling is unheard of. Perhaps if you could upload a video with the particular sound, we'd be able to help you more?

I have the pre facelift CVT Magnite. I agree that there's vibrations due to the nature of the engine but whistling is new. Is it possible you're hearing the turbo spoiling? Or the sound of AC blower fan?

It's also possible that the facelift version has some flaw that is causing the sound. Do you have a recording of it. Is it coming from all over the car or is it isolated to a specific spot (it could point to an improperly seated door seal too)

Re: 2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift : A Close Look

During my recent visit to India, I got to drive my dad's new 2024 Kiger CVT Turbo. The NHV at idle is put it simply, horrible. Not only can you feel the vibration, you can actually see the steering wheel shake! However, once one gets moving the NHV improves considerably. The suspension does make terrible noises over bumps. The AC is also just mediocre (at 30C outdoor temperatures).
Basically this is the best turbo you can get in its price range as long as you are willing to live with its negatives.

Re: 2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift : A Close Look

As per Rushlane, the prices of the new Magnite have increased by up to 22K for all the variants, and introductory prices are over now.
