Vehicles manufactured between August 2017 and June 2018 have been recalled. It also includes 2,404 units, on which the fuel pump was replaced as a spare part. The recall affects 3,317 units of the Brio, 16,744 units of the Jazz, 14,298 units of the WR-V, 4,386 units of the BR-V, 18,851 units of the Amaze, and 32,872 units of the City.

According to the carmaker, a fuel pump with a defective impeller could result in the engine either stopping or refusing to start. The recall will commence in a phased manner, starting November 5. The replacement part will be installed free of charge.

Honda will be reaching out to the owners of the affected vehicles. Customers can also check if their vehicle is among those recalled by entering their car’s VIN on Honda’s official website.

Thank you for this. I just checked and found that my car is part of this recall. Just registered and will wait to hear from the service center.

Mad respect for Honda for doing this. Particularly for doing it even for models not in production like Brio, Jaaz etc. Its for cars nearly 6-7 years old! Kudos

Contrast this with Tata. Fuel pump issues in Zest, Tiago and Tigor are commonplace. Fuel pump cost is about Rs.11,500.
I have replaced fuel pump thrice in my Zest - once during warranty (2018) and twice I paid out of my pocket (2022 & 2024)
Tata can learn a lot from other OEMs like Honda on how to win and keep customers happy.

Is Tata using some vague quality fuel pump? What make are they to fail so often?

I think Tata's control over its vendors is poor as well as poor Quality Control.
Add to that, they have no clue how to keep customers happy and satisfied.

My entire fuel-pump saga can be found here and here.

Agree here. Mine is a 2017 model and I have not faced any issue with the fuel pump so far. I was surprised to see this recall and was even more surprised when my car is part of this recall.

Called the service center and they informed that they are awaiting this replacement part from Honda and also the list of cars that qualify for this replacement. They will be contacting the owners upon receiving the list. However, not very sure how much will actually end up replacing considering that there are no signs of any issue with the fuel pump and most of the owners might not even be aware of this recall.
