The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is available in three variants – S 350d, S 450 4Matic and Maybach S 580. The mid-spec S 450 variant now gets two new exterior and interior colour packages. These include Emerald Green Metallic with Sienna Brown/Black interior and Manufaktur Rubellite Red Metallic with Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey interior.

More importantly, the S 450 now comes with seatbelt airbags in the rear and a new centre airbag between the front seats. This variant also gets the Energizing Air purification package.

The top-of-the-line Maybach S 580 also receives a major update in the form of rear-axle steering. It enables the rear wheels to turn by up to 10 degrees, improving manoeuvrability. The system was offered on the S Class at launch but was discontinued after local assembly began.

Much like the S 450, the Maybach S 580 also gets an additional centre airbag between the front seats and comes in a new colour: Manufaktur Rubellite Red Metallic with Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey interior.

Still no ventilated seats in the front in the regular S class, its a crime that its been missed since 2014 when the W222 was launched.

Did Mercedes discontinue the S680 in India ? Why so ?

Praise for Merc for not going the BWM way and converting this into some terrifying monstrosity. The S still looks classy. May be not iconic anymore but nice, neutral good looks that won't split the internet in half.

I thought all S classes had ventilated seats. They had even added ventilated seats and keyless entry to both the C class and GLC refresh after we made a huge hue and cry about it.
