Re: Honda Elevate Apex Edition launched at Rs 12.86 lakh

oh god, another car with a White interior.
Maybe because people love white cars (exterior) and hence manufacturers think people will want matching white interior too?

This is because Apex badging, karol bagh trims and White Interiors are installed at dealer level (on V and VX) and not from the factory.

What is surprising to me is the fact that they are offering these ivory seat covers on variants that have 6 airbags!

The white interiors look premium, though.

It definitely looks much more premium and appealing than the regular elevate, but no ZX trim means no auto-dimming IRVM, may seem like a little miss to many, but to me that’s a big negative in today’s time.

It has a rear wash and wipe too - good package overall, if you don't mind white interiors.

It’s baffling how they managed to design such an uncomfortable middle seat and even more surprising that it got approved, given Honda's "man maximum, machine minimum" philosophy.

I can't remember but I am guessing the Elevate doesn't have a three point seat belt in the middle row? It's likely that they added that bump to market it as a 4 seaters in places where they have safety regulations, this car would fail any safety test with lap belts for the middle passenger. Basically Honda doesn't want you to use it as a 5 seater but they don't mention that in India.

What I understand from red box is that the Elevate V/VX ships from Honda factory to dealership, dealership installs ambient lights, and white seat covers and then hands over the car to customer.
I have seen Maruti and Tata dealers providing seat covers which do not cover the seat sides on variants with side airbags. The seat covers show for Apex variant seem to cover the sides also. It would be interesting to find out how dealership is going to replace seat covers on variants with side airbags.

Elevates manufactured from April 2024 do have a three-point seatbelt for the centre seat. You cannot see it in the images because it is the secondary-buckle type (a la Innova) where you have to "make" the seatbelt's lower anchorage by pulling the end of the belt from the roof and attaching it to the secondary buckle. Then you can use it as you would any other automatic three-point seatbelt.

Here is the relevant slide from the updated owners' manual for the Elevate R.

If Honda wanted to make it a 4-seater they would do a much larger bump, as they did with the Australian HR-V e:HEV when they could not add the required Top Tether to the middle seat.

I hope they offer ambient lights as an accessory to existing Elevate owners.

Re: Honda Elevate Apex Edition launched at Rs 12.86 lakh

I think by excluding ZX version from this cosmetic update, Honda just wants to pull the mid level variant buyers. The ZX top variant buyers are probably going to spend some extra money and go to competitors for features like ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats, panoramic sunroof etc. Feel a bit let down from the Honda India management/business unit in not being proactive and addressing the real issues. If they had introduced at least 2/3 of new features and added the cost to the top variant, sales of Elevate would pick up! Hope they at least read the threads on this forum.

Thank you. As an existing Honda Elevate(ZX CVT) owner, I considered installing ambient lights but abandoned the plan to avoid potential warranty issues, since ambient lights are now installed at the dealer level in Apex edition.

Can existing owners have ambient lights installed through a Honda dealer? Will this affect the vehicle's warranty?

Re: Honda Elevate Apex Edition launched at Rs 12.86 lakh

One of the most talked about “missing features” of Honda Elevate is the ambient lights. When it has been this to implement through a simple accessory upgrade and that too at the dealership and when the door designs clearly have been planned for such an inclusion, Honda leadership seems to be intentionally sabotaging Elevate sales by not introducing this in their line up as a standard offering at least in the top variants.

The Apex edition offers a full fledged ambient lighting as one would except, and the least Honda can do is make it available as an accessory to new and existing customers if they have to stop short of making it a part of the official offering in some variants

I for one absolutely prefer the white interiors. And I put my money where my mouth is when i got my Safari earlier this year. I chose the Dual Tone version over the Dark edition, because I preferred the white interiors to the all black interiors in the Dark edition.

To each his own!

This is what my dealer quoted:
“Interior is 25k and exterior is 15k ex showroom”
I feel it’s expensive compared to the features on offer.

Re: Honda Elevate Apex Edition launched at Rs 12.86 lakh

Just a quick check, has anyone figured out a way or a willing dealer to install the ambient lights as an accessory for existing customers? I did get a confirmation that the entire Apex edition is basically a set of accessories that are to be installed at the dealer level.

Also, apparently, Honda is strictly tying the sale of these accessories to new VIN numbers and dealerships are unable to place an order for the accessories as they typically would for other accessories.

Had a word regarding the same with the sales rep who facilitated my Elevate purchase. He said it'll be done. I just need to bring in my car. Will get to know more when I visit the dealership.
