Re: 15-year scrappage policy | Sensible to buy expensive cars? Rich People / Business owners who can afford to claim depreciation benefits on their expensive cars will continue to do so.
Middle class salaried class will keep getting crushed under this tax terrorism policies.
15 years from today, this virus would have spread across the country and the only car they cannot outlaw in the name of emissions is an EV. None of the ICEs (including CNG and Hydrogen CE) will be spared.
It is for people like us to figure out now whether they want to buy a new battery at 10/15 years or an entirely new car. It's not rocket science to figure out which alternative would be less expensive. There will be *some* resale value left for a Nexon EV LR in 2039, but if what is happening now keeps happening, the same for Nexon Petrol will become zero in 2039 while the Diesel would be worthless only by 2034. All 3 cost roughly the same today in the higher trims with AT.
Cherry on top, GST on EVs is 5%, not 28%-50%. Many states don't even charge road tax on EVs. That's another 8-13% saved.
The signal from the govt. is clear. Save taxes, save resale value, save your car from mandatory scrapping. Go EVs. |
