My colleague own a diesel Creta auto with a TC, and he gets an FE of about 9 KMPL in the city of Hyderabad. Highway mileage is about 14-15 KMPL. ARAI numbers don't usually translate to real world efficiency.

Creta is no more in the economy segment. It's a mid sized segment which is premium class.

Altroz is selling quite well with 3500 copies a month and a refresh is expected soon. So keep watching.
Tata Motors says that while the ATLAS can underpin various body styles, like MPVs and sedans, it has been optimised for ‘genuine SUV capabilities’. In a post-launch interview, Mohan Savarkar, chief product officer and vice president at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, said, “To answer your 4x4 question, yes, it [ATLAS] can be made 4x4 with some changes.”

Savarkar says that ATLAS can accommodate a tyre with an outer diameter of up to 740mm, which could thus manage rims up to about 20 inches in diameter. Tata Motors also says that ATLAS can underpin vehicles between 3.7 metres and 4.7 metres in length, with varying wheelbase and width.

This is quite contradictory to what they have said earlier during the CurvV launch.
If true, then both AlfaArc and OmegaArc platforms will be replaced by ATLAS.

Exactly my point. So all cars for Tiago to the Safari can be built on the same platform. So Next gen Safari not only can have an AWD but also shift to 4X4 configuration that can be an off roader. It will share the platform with JLR cars means it can get the top spec features and can be the NextGen Tata Defender aka Sumo.

Sorry to digress. All of this sounds great. But Tata mostly never does what it says. When ALFA was introduced, they said they would be present in 90 percent of segments within 2022 or so. We have only seen Altroz and punch from ALFA. Nexon wasn't migrated to ALFA, nor is the Curvv built on ALFA. Oh and they said they would be no more new gen cars on x0 or x1 platforms. There's the new gen Nexon and an all new Curvv on x1 platform. Harrier and Safari will forever be FWD SUV. 2.2L diesel isn't coming back. Nor would they revive BoF platforms. Remember the blurry video that showed multiple cars from ALFA and Omega platforms? None of them are coming. Not the mid size sedan, not the compact sedan, not the mini MPV. God knows when Sierra would be launched.

In short, never trust what Tata says.

In addition to that, you can expect the most insane decisions from Tata. No turbo on punch or tiago/tigor. Unnecessarily underpowered turbo petrol and diesel engines on Altroz.

mods: please move to the correct thread if one exists.

Re: Tata Nexon Diesel DCT variant listed on official website

So many posts on this thread, yet I'm not even sure if this Diesel-DCT variant exists for Nexon.

Please see screenshot taken from Nexon's official price website.
If you click on Apply filters after choosing Diesel and 7-speed DCA, this is what you see:

Go figure.

I totally agree with you that TML faltered with their plans. The spanner in their planning to fail is the engineers who designed the AlfaArc platform. Their hurry to design a new platform resulted in series of issues including restricted tyre size and other issues which made them stumble on their plans. Financial doldrums in the mid 2010s is another reason for backing down on aggressive plans and rethink. It seems is the very results for their banking back on the outdated platform for the Nexon but they specifically mentioned that it will be the last car on the X1.

Curvv is now based on the ATLAS architecture and not the X1. Meagre sales and plans to dump ladder frame (BOF) platform for Passenger vehicles forced them to rethink on the 2.2 Varicor diesel engine. So the future is Atlas architecture and they have realized their faults. So after financial stability they are on a Juggernaut and keep watching ahead. Tata’s road map is clearly defined and there is no looking back. Next launches after Altroz Racer and Curvv are Nexon CNG, Harrier EV, and Punch ICE update that will be rolled out by Q4 2024 (Jan-Mar 2025). Sierra EV & ICE are planned for festival season of 2025 and we should see test mules soon.

Even Mahindra faced the same issue and they paused and replanned the entire game. Their Juggernaut too started rolling in the past 3 years and now they are aggressive.
