Is anyone a lawyer from Delhi here? If so, please assist @Manuuj legally.

Delhi coaching center flooding:

A different kind of accident; collateral damage ?

What was the fault of this SUV driver? Are there any rules against driving on a flooded road?

I am sure Manuuj is quite capable and well connected to handle this situation. However I also believe that there are many eminent lawyers/advocates in our TBhp forum who could provide legal assistance to Manuuj.. I pray that our good friend, Manuuj will come out exonerated from all the charges. Hope truth prevails.

re: BHPian arrested because he drove his Force Gurkha on a flooded street | EDIT: Granted bail

Sh*t rolls down the hill. The hierarchy for arresting should start from the top to set an example and clean the system and not from the bottom, this guy is simply caught in the rotten system.

Even if he's cleared of all this mess, who will claim the responsibility of his reputational damage?

But when we have mentally challenged IAS occupying the top-most position, by arm twisting, what else can be expected of the system. It's scary to be caught among these nincompoops.

Feels sad for the loss of the "GENUINE IAS" aspirants and fake ones are ruling the roost.

I won't bat an eyelid, if they will arrest the gate too.

Its the driver's fault because only boats are allowed in such cases ?

Hilarious on the section they have invoked. Everywhere basements are being used for business when the sanction plans say its for parking. Authorities are murderers in our country.

The Gurkha owner is known to my friend as they are part of the same all india gurkha group.

Infact the gurkha owner should sue the MCD that how come water logging was there on the road and caused the inconvenience.

Can see in this video that it was just a splash, gate was already open and water was inside the building.

What a coincidence that I just finished reading another article on TBHP titled Responding vs Reacting! It is very evident that this was a reactive move by the authorities and absolutely pathetic. Maybe they were fearing a social media outlash and went out of their way to showcase that they are prompt and efficient.

It is a grave injustice to arrest him this way and I only pray that our fellow brother is not only released but is also given an unconditional apology publicly.

re: BHPian arrested because he drove his Force Gurkha on a flooded street | EDIT: Granted bail

Why always academies, coaching centers, training centers, etc; are in Basements, else in some top floor without fire prevention or escape methods. Where did the bureaucrats go when these centers were opened, they immediately jump into action & arrest some guy who is not even connected to any of the hierarchy of the incident.

Maybe the coaching center has strong background, so no arrests were made in that side

This guy drove the vehicle in road, which is road worthy but still arrested because the road was flooded - they shall have arrested the whole PWD department itself not the person who has paid umpteen taxes to get his dream vehicle and driving in a road.

Today's headline:

"In a bizarre incident, police forces from various countries launched an operation to capture a maneater tiger. While others came back empty handed, the Indian Police was nowhere to be seen. Everyone panicked and a search party was dispatched. The team apparently found the Indian Police heroically "interrogating" a bear, hanging it upside down with sticks and demanding it confess to being the maneater tiger."

Note: Any resemblance to our rotting system is purely coincidental.

During my engineering days, i used to attend one of such "Coaching classes" in Mumbai, trust me it was just a tiny room with 2-3 Window ACs and no windows with just one door to enter and exit. Such set ups are a ticking time bomb, just a disaster waiting to happen.

Grave injustice by the authorities to even cook-up such a story, let alone arrest him with such charges. The authorities have stooped to a new low in the name of 'crackdown'.

My prayers are with Manuuj bhai and his family in these testing times.

re: BHPian arrested because he drove his Force Gurkha on a flooded street | EDIT: Granted bail

IAS/IPS lobbies are very powerful they won't allow anyone to touch their folks. blame will always be on commoners who are made scapegoats. For no faults innocents like Manuuj will be spending time behind bars while corrupt people are outside forming plan how to escape and blame others. In recent Ghatkopar hoarding collapse case where 16 people died and more than 100 injured while filing fuel in their vehicles, No government official is arrested who were behind giving illegal permissions.

sad to say we are truly banana republic where no one can touch powerful people and authorities for their crimes.

I don't know the circumstances under which the gate got broken by the SUV and the news report is silent on this aspect too. But going by what has been reported, the arrest of the SUV driver is an act of utmost highhandedness of the police. Typical. Big incident having news coverage? Make as many arrests as possible - left, right and centre.

The poor guy would be in custody for a few weeks and then get bail, hopefully sooner rather than later. No ingredient of culpable homicide is present at all. At most the driver could have been accused of causing death by rash & negligent act or rash driving (which too are extremely far fetched).

There does not go a day when I do not wonder how these chaps clear the UPSC exam given the extremely poor skills at understanding the very basics of the law. But then I realise it's not the lack of skill but the lack of intention. /Rant

re: BHPian arrested because he drove his Force Gurkha on a flooded street | EDIT: Granted bail

It is deplorable what happened, the water logging and the arrest thereafter of the vehicle owner. It just does not make sense. Obviously the police has reacted to show that they are proactive, there is no logic behind this move. This incident just makes me wonder as to what we all can do as a group?
