At 2.20, we can see that the rear door is similar to current Thar, in two pieces. The top seems hard top, and not metal.

Showed it to Wife - she loved the design, also how it looks in white color.

The C pillar works to balance the wide stance of the vehicle atleast from the images it looks like that. I think the grill is also something that won't need any aftermarket mods.

It looks out of proportion from the side, The have done the same mistake that Maruti did with Jimny, If Jimny was launched as two door in India it would have sold in better numbers. Same for the Thar the two door will still outsell the five door version.

They have over done the grill and the Rims, The current grill and rims look better than these. Why do brands sometimes kill good designs may be because the numbers that are sold are so high and they are afraid of after market suppliers producing enough numbers to kill the OEM spares market.

Now I am more convinced that it looks best in Black only. All other lighter shades fail to conceal the design quirks.

Some designs come out of practicality over aesthetics, ROXX is one of them.

Many fellow members stated that the ROXX may overlap Cretas, Curvve, Sheltos etc, but I see it differently. These FWD urban vehicles are actually easier to drive and more comfortable for an average family so I don't see much of ROXX effect there.

Instead what I see that the ROXX maybe a more comfortable, practical and safer replacement for old Commanders which have been favorite in the villages. Many of such buyers refrained picking up 3 door Thar due to the practicality issues which are now fixed in the ROXX.

Another small dent maybe in the sales of Mahindra's own XUV and Scorpio since ROXX offers plush interiors, sunroof and music systems with big screen at much lesser price compared to them.

Most people do not seem to be happy with the C pillar design but that is very easy fix using the vinyl sheets available cheaply at the car accessory shops:

I am still not convinced it is going to be under 20 ex for the top 4x4 model Base Diesel is 13.99 lac
For instance Scorpio P starts at 13.85 and goes upto 24.54

Everything suggests top 4x4 Diesel AT could be over 20 lac, maybe around 22 lac which isnt a bad price at all

This is such a complete package at a very competitive price. To me, looks uber cool, has all the necessary features, stands out from the usual Creta's and Selto's and Nexon's and everything. Having driven the Thar 3D on the highway, if the ride quality is good and wind noise on the highway is little more controlled, I don't mind seeing this as a primary vehicle sometime in the future!

Is the pricing for the base petrol lower than the current 3 door Petrol?
Current 3 door LX Petrol 2WD HT is 14.09 Ex showroom and that's the only petrol variant I can find in 2WD.

The 3 door petrol 2wd comes in only AT while the price for 5 door base model is for MT.

Wow, that is priced very well. Maruti should take note.
This is how you capture premium and niche market and make it part of the mainstream.
Those who really need 4×4, can take the three door or the Scorpio N, depending upon what they actually want to do. And those who wants the SUV look can take the RWD. And to an extent, even RWD would perform good enough on most terrains, with the torque available and a good set of tyres.

Also to be clear ₹12.99 lakhs is price for 4x4 variant right?
If yes, then it’s really really VFM because Thar 3Door RWD starts from ₹14.1 lakhs and 4x4 range from ₹14.3 lakhs.

Nope nope. These prices are for the RWD or 2WD variants only. 4WD prices would likely be out tomorrow.
