I don't think Mahindra think it through while choosing this name, however I have feeling it has something to do with Mahindra Roxor which is being sold in US & Canada, probably they intend to export this and want to sell this as an extension to Roxor.

Back when I was in 7th grade, there was this trend where my friends would create facebook profiles for themselves and put on their main display names as "Manoj Roxx" or "Suraj Roxx". That felt equally cringe back then, as it is today.

Mahindra is losing out a huge nostalgic audience if they're not naming it Armada. Maybe, they will pull off a Gravitas/Harrier. Who knows they might even do that given that the reception after they've released the name is quite negative.

I like the name That ROXX. I like it much more than the name Armada. I didn't like the original Armada to begin with, hence.
Rocks would have been bad-sounding. This is the best of both worlds.

If a kid named it, in my books it was a smart kid.

That is so old a vehicle, first showcased at 2008 AutoExpo. The engine, suspension, transmission and more or less everything else was borrowed from German manufacturers for this protype then. Hopefully it is an indigenous product now.

Reading all the posts on TBHP about the name ROXX, it is not at all surprising that the comments sections of the video on youtube is turned off!

I will just remove the ROXX moniker and retain the Thar, if ever i decide to get the vehicle . The Thar 5D looks promising, expecting a decent backlog of orders. The only part I din't like is the quarter glass panel, will reserve my comments till I see the car in flesh.

Make no mistake, the Thar Roxx is capable of conquering any terrain all over the world but if you get stuck that could turn out to be an unpleasant experience

Here is an idea, the Range Rover Sport is available used from 11L onwards, 15L would get you a gem. Now that would be an ideal world conquerer

Since the name Roxx came out, it seems like only the discussions are targeted towards the name everywhere. The initial hype and discussions about the features and launch has been lost and missing. Even the expectations about how the quarter glass might be looking as well as availability of variants and transmissions are nothing to be seen. Am I missing something?

Names don't matter much if the car is good and priced well, for example when the Jimny and the Fronx were launched, everyone was against the Fronx name, but it is the one which has become a hit and the Jimny hardly sells.
