Looks very nice, love the design of the rims. If the power to weight ration is nice and it is priced lower than the Scorpio N, I might even go for an exchange!
But the name is horrendous. Pure unadulterated cringe.

Edit: Something as basic as Thar 5 would have done wonders too

This is just a teaser for the name launch. The car is hardly shown. I'm sure there will be an elborate ad showcasing all the features Mahindra wants to market.

'Roxx' sounds like a metallic name coming from the 80s or 90s. Whereas 'Thar' sounds reassuring and robust. Together it sounds like beating a tin can in a desert. Mahindra should hire a Pratap Bose of literature, if they are finding it so difficult to name a car.

Mahindra recently launched their 4x4 All Terrain Armored Light Specialist vehicle (ASLV) for the Indian Army and have named it as "Armado".
Much like an Indian Humvee, they should consider releasing a civilian version in future. It will have takers for sure.

Remember the "We live young, we live free". It was such a masterclass of an Ad. Whats with Mahindra now with their cheesy ads and nomenclature. Thar ROXX ?! Seriously ?! It's like those insecure teenagers who keep their usernames as "bond007" , "ma lyf ma rules" etc

Mahindra is probably the only company that does not focus on branding (unintentionally) rather the products sells themselves.

While other companies like the VAG, Jeep, Nissan, Citroen and other German companies focus on branding only.

branding and product story is necessary for abroad markets as they are the selling stimulus for the customers, whereas here in India, these above above brands struggle.

However, Mahindra Roxx- terrible ad, terrible script, terrible name but looks like a 10/10 product.

Just the nameplate discussion is running into 6 pages, that's the kind off hype this vehicle has created and most probably this will convert into monthly sales figures as well.

They are way too lucky to have this kind of target audience and their expectations i.e., high budget, low mileage, high oomph factor, high performance. Maruti is craving at least either of these factors, but so far they've failed.

Coming to the name - I agree it's too tacky for a vehicle that will cost quarter of a crore. But so has been their naming department in the recent past. Glad they've names their BEVs very sensibly.

Coming to the design, I think it's safe to say that Pratap Bose hasn't made a mark in Mahindra yet apart from their BEVs which are designed from ground up.

Closing note - If you've the budget for a bolero now, buy equivalent shares in Mahindra and en-cash it with the Roxx in 3-4 years.

Mahindra's back with a bang! The ROXX, their 5-door Thar, is finally here. While "Armada" might have evoked some 90s nostalgia, "ROXX" has a bold ring to it, and I'm sure it'll grow on us.

First impressions based on photos:-

Design: The middle door proportions do seem a tad off compared to the front doors. However, the unique quarter glass adds a characterful touch. It'll be interesting to see how it looks in person.
Overall: The ROXX definitely stays true to the Thar's rugged DNA, but with added practicality of the 5 doors. Can't wait to see the ROXX on the road!
