Its so unoriginal, its not even funny. Seriously speaking, Team Mahindra should get back to reading some good books to take inspiration for naming their 'icons'. But in the end they know, sales number matters. Whats in a name anyways?

I think I read some where that they are also redesigning the front so that they can launch it in Australia. I never thought I would say this, but I will go checkout and may be put my money on it if it gets launched here i.e. if it drives well and amazes me like the Ford Figo, Focus and the Mustang amazed me.

Strange Mahindra is here in Australia but Tata's are not and the Chinese are definitely doing better.

This just continues the trend from Mahindra where they do most of the things right but mess up some where.
In the XUV 700, it was the front grill.
In the Scorpio N ,it was the forced delivery of lines that looked out of place.
In the 3X0, it would be the front again.

Armada would have been an apt name. Even if they had to reserve Armada for a future launch,they could have done better than ROXX for sure.

Why Mahindra why?

I am owner of a 3 door Thar. Irrespective of the name, I love this beast to be launched. As a local mallu saying goes, Katta Waiting (waiting eagerly)....The Thar is an emotion ❤️

Their marketing team has been on a roll lately. First it was "DADDY" with the ScorpioN and now the "ROXX". I'm surprised they didn't do anything funky with the 3X0, but then I guess the design of that car will do the part.

Mahindra missed the beat here. Armada had the nice vibe and nostalgia behind it. Maybe, Mahindra team thinks it is too much of a name to deliver on its promises, hence ROXX (I don't like this name, it may grow on later)

Mahindra missed the opportunity here. Toyota Supra, Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator, Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco, VW Microbus, GMC Hummer, and Jeep Wagoneer are all throwbacks to long-discontinued models.

Let's hope the product delivers unlike the youtube advert.

Not even one foot step right with this 4 door Thar. Let's see. First this awful design choices, then came the dreaded name and now how you promote it. The only saviour is the price.

All is not lost, friends. My guess is that M&M would have the Thar branding more prominently placed throughout the vehicle. In the three door Thar I believe the Thar beand word was affixed/embossed/printed at 17 different places in the car. M&M would not change all of these, to save on common parts and templates. Let us say the Roxx suffix appears in 1-2 places, maybe at the rear door and front side quarter panel, then we can easily remove the suffixes and drive our 5-doors' with just the Thar branding. Removing the allergic reaction caused by Roxx, may not be so hard, at least on one's own vehicle.

Mahindra really made a great looking car but made all efforts go in vain by just naming it ROXX..

Why not name it Armada, it was such a beautiful name and it fit the THAR'S stance.

And "THE SUV", it looks like they hired a kid to choreograph the advertisement. There was hardly anything explaining features, looks, power of the car.

Heck, even if they just posted a video of it driving comfortably in pothole filled roads, it would have made sense.

The best thing one can do after buying the car is removed the ROXX badging(if they don't like the name at all!!)

Judging by the reels I see of the Thar, I guess Mahindra knows its target customer and has named it appropriately.

I always had this belief that a name would not be a deal-breaker for me, if I were in the market-place for a particular car model. Until today..!

Heck.. I wouldn't consider owning it, even if it is given for free with that ridiculous name.
As if they have run out of all other standard names!
