What a cheesy name! Thar Armada was the internet favourite. I guess the Thar 7-seater will be the Thar Armada then

They have named it this way so they could combine the sales of both thar and this together and show us a bigger number, and project it as a big hit. I am betting Mahindra assumes this would grab some sales from the Scorpio. It truly would.

Mahindra just wants to shake the market with launches while it can.

I am disappointed on the fact that Armada name is not given. Suits the car and it's heritage. 'Roxx' kind of sounds childish but Prospective owners will lap it up no doubt thanks to the Thar Brand

While I understand the sentiment behind the preference for Armada, it does feel a bit dated even though it is more classy. Roxx, while childish, is more short, simple, and catchy.

I guess they want to make the "Rox__" brand famous. In USA, Thar is named as Roxor. Does not seem any other reason.

Just like car designs, car names are equally important. Some how, these 3x’oh’ and now Roxx don’t convey a meaning to the car. Thar is such a great name and suits that vehicle absolutely. Not sure about the visual Roxx offers!

The name does sound pretty ludicrous. Seems like the people at Mahindra were trying to come up with a cool name that would resonate with the younger generation but failed miserably. No idea why they couldn't just stick to 'Armada'.

Seeimg the members reacting to the weird name for Thar 5 seater, I guess Mahindra might have been reminded of their Maxx pickup van ,same round headlamp front and side profile bearing the 2+2 seats and the tipper behind.

On a slightly OT note, they could have braded it as Thar Maxx or Armada or even Atlas, these names sound more fitting to the SUV.

Armada has been the popular choice of name given the heritage and nostalgia especially among erstwhile Armada owners.

However, giving the Armada suffix would impart a more utilitarian flavor to the 5 door Thar rather the intended lifestyle tag.
More than a Thar, perhaps a new gen 4x4 Bolero in future is more apt to carry forward the Armada legacy.

Roxx suffix does not carry a previous baggage and feels better the Armada tag. This name would grow on consumers and gain more acceptance as time goes.

Roxx for sure created a shock and 'Rocked' everyone here
