Mahindra & Mahindra has an interesting portfolio of products waiting for the launch!!
In this thread let us talk about the upcoming launches by M&M.
Here is the snippet of the launch plan that they have showcased a few years back:
In a recent YouTube video that showcased the MRV internal testing capabilities, found this interesting piece of snap:
So the current projects at M&M are:
1. W610 (I believe this is XUV e9)
2. M310
3. NEF
4. HCC
5. W502
6. UPP
7. H1.
From all we know, W601 stands for XUV700, Scorpio N was Z101, THAR 5Door aka THAR Armada is W502, W610 is XUVe8.
We don't know what NEF, HCC, UPP & H1 are, these could be internal projects or specific common parts shared across the lineups.
Coming to the BEVs, this is the list of EVs expected to be launched in future:
The GAMEPLAN:
For ICE,
1. The most anticipated
THAR 5Door/ARMADA is launching this August 15 (marking 75th Anniversary of CJ3A in India)
2. We can expect a
facelift of XUV700 in the next year, with carried out front facia (with the same grill of XUV700 ofcourse), may be a three-cluster layout as e8, few more additional goodies + jacked up price.
3.
All New Bolero was on the cards for Mahindra until 2022. Unfortunately, we do not know whether this is still under work. Recently when Mahindra presented their THARe, they mentioned that they will be retaining the badges like XUV, Scorpio, THAR and Bolero for their future. Fingers crossed!!
4. We can expect
XUV e9 to be available with both Petrol & EV avatar. I doubt if this will be launched with Diesel. I highly anticipate their 1.5L mStallion Turbo which debuted in the Auto Expo 2020 will see roads with e9. And I hope this launch might happen sometime between April and August of 2025.
For BEV aka Born Electric Vehicles:
INGLO platform is capable of adapting wheelbase from 2755mm to 2762mm
and can aid Mahindra in developing products between 4.3-4.7m. This will sport a 210-220mm GC which will be high on global standards.
What I believe would be common for Mahindra's XUV range of EVs and the BEVs are their INGLO platform and the 60Kwh and 80Kwh battery packs.
I think, the dual motor variants will be powered by 80Kwh and also the single motor top ends might get 80Kwh packs. AWD versions can be seen with the XUV & BEV series. Scorpio & THAR Badging would get a 4x4 system (I do not know how though).
1. Starting with the launch of
XUVe8 this December 2024. This will be powered with the jointly developed VAG's 60Kwh and 80Kwh battery technology and the INGLO Platform of Mahindra.
VWs ID5 has an 82Kwh battery pack with a WLTP range of ~500kms, we can expect it to do 430-450kms in India. It was disclosed that it will come with a single & dual motor setup.
2.
XUVe9: As said, we can expect the launch timelines to be between April and September 2025. I believe first the EV version would launch, followed by the ICE.
While Mahindra remains tight-lipped about the XUV.e9's official specs, the battery is said to be in the range of 60-80kWh for the upcoming electric cars. Knowing this is a premium EV, we think this one will pack the biggest 80kWh battery paired with a powerful electric motor. An official potential range of 450-500km on a single charge should be doable as the test mule also showed a 369km range when on the run.
Born Electrics are their grounds-up EVs unlike XUV series which have cues from the XUV700s platform under the INGLO platform:
3.
BEV05: 2775mm wheelbase & 4.35m length, this will be a strong competition to the TATA Curvv. This is said to launch on Oct 2025. We still do not have clear details about the launch/more spies.

.
Will be excited to see what Mahindra brings onto the roads in the upcoming years.
With TATA Motors all we know is, they have TATA Curvv, Avinaya, Harrier & Safari Electrics in their cards. We do not know their grounds-up EV game yet.
Let us hope our Indian mfg. steal the Thunder and go global with excellent products. I hope this will bring the tag "Indian Engineering".
