This is very true. Even after recent price drop Safari/Harrier variants are still costlier than XUV700.
XUV700 AX7 Diesel Manual costs ₹19.99 lac (ex-showroom) while one to shell out ₹22.29 lac to get Safari Adventure+ A manual with ADAS.

Although Safari gives some more features, QC issues in new models and not enabling Lane kep assist (LKA) until now are spreading more and more with common buyers.

Re: June 2024 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

I used to have a XUV500 and I loved the car. Always wanted to own a EUR / GER car and bought the Kushaq 1.5 DSG and it's simply awesome. For all the Skoda / VAG fans out here and across India, I sincerely hope:
- In the long run, they introduce new cars in the price bracket of 15 to 30 lakhs
- Their C1 car coming up next year is a hit
- They continue with the solid TSI engines and DSG gearboxes and don't compromise on power / performance
- Hold a high bar on quality of interiors, NVH etc. and are market competitive on the 'features' that India seems to love so much
- Cars like Octavia, Kodiaq & Tiguan are locally assembled and become cheaper
- Introduce a competitor to XUV700 / Safari, at a similar price range
- And finally, break into the top 5!

Re: June 2024 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Pros and Cons from ownership experience of Punch Automatic Topend.
Pros...
1. Good mileage - 11-13 in city driving conditions
2. Great front looks
3. Great ground clearance and safety
4. Amazing Speaker quality
5. Lot of very practical storage places

Cons...
1. Drive is not smooth due to AMT. Specifically bad at lower city speeds. Feels jerky when you release accelerator in lower gear.
2. Out of breath around 90-100km. Needs to be pushed hard to go above 100. Then engine heats up.

Broken record alert!

Diesels are alive and kicking in the Indian market. Time for Tata to plonk the 1.5 89bhp Revotorq turbodiesel into the Punch.
