Mahindra builds 2,00,000 XUV700s in just 33 months

To celebrate the milestone, Mahindra has introduced two new colour options on the XUV700: Deep Forest and Burnt Sienna. The SUV is available in seven variants: MX, AX3, AX5, AX5 Select, AX7, AX7 Luxury and AX7 Luxury Blaze Edition.

The XUV700 is offered with two engine options. These include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 197 BHP and 380 Nm and a 2.2-litre diesel that puts out 182 BHP and 450 Nm. Both engines come with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Select variants get all-wheel drive.

The XUV700 has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The SUV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS as well as features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Alexa functionality.

And well deserved! In my opinion, XUV 700 is all the car one needs in India. Checks all boxes of performance, safety, luxury and space.

I truly believe that this is a product that wouldn't have difficulties selling at twice the price if it came from one of the marquee brands.

The second nightmare that Mahindra unleashed on 'global' brands and their India ambitions. Some of it appears to be payback with interest.

I drove it and thought to myself that if BMW were to create an India specific X1 with 7 seats, this is how it would drive.

The dark green color would look better with a PPF with some Tint or even matt finish , I don't like PPF but I can appreciate that look on someone else's car.

Re: Mahindra builds 2,00,000 XUV700s in just 33 months

Kudos to Mahindra for bringing such a stellar product and reaching this incredible milestone. However, it's been 33 months now (almost 3 years!) and they haven't introduced significant updates to the XUV700 beyond model year refreshes. Meanwhile, the segment has evolved. While the XUV700 boasts the best powertrain, the Safari facelift and even the Innova Hycross outshine it in terms of features. The XUV700 still lacks essentials like an auto-dimming IRVM, which the XUV3XO and the upcoming Thar 5 door have.

It's high time for a comprehensive facelift that includes features like a powered tailgate, auto-dimming IRVM, sliding rear seats (especially for the captain seat variant), all power windows with auto up/down functionality, and a larger infotainment unit similar to the Safari.

Its not only the features, the Safari makes the XUV700 feel half a generation behind. The XUV700 needs more than just new colors; it needs a facelift to stay competitive in the market.

XUV700 needs few missing features and maybe features rejig across models to make it even better value prop, but it certainly doesn't need a comprehensive face-lift.

I would rather have Mahindra focus on new products like Scorpio Pick-up, New EVs, and maybe even a Fortuner competitor. If Ford is serious about coming back then Mahindra needs to cover it's bases before the end of the year.

I'm drooling over the Burnt Sienna color! Adds a premium character to the car. Also Mahindra has silently introduced MX 7-seater as well since AFAIK 7-STR was available from AX3 onwards.

With the upcoming 5 door Thar, the next one lakh is going to be slower for sure. But this is a benchmark in the segment for sure
