Mini India has opened bookings for the Cooper 3-door hatchback. The latest generation model is expected to be launched later this year.



The new-gen Mini Cooper made its global debut in September last year. The car gets revised circular headlamps with an octagonal grille and redesigned LED taillights with the Union Jack light signature.

Inside, the new Mini Cooper 3-door features a minimalistic dashboard design with a large circular touchscreen in the centre, which also doubles up as the instrument cluster.

The new Mini comes in 'Cooper C' and 'Cooper S' trims, powered by a 154 BHP 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 201 BHP 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, respectively.

The pure electric version comes in 'Cooper E' and 'Cooper SE' trims with 40.7 kWh and 54.2 kWh battery packs, respectively.

Mini Cooper, Countryman Electric to be launched on July 24

Mini India has announced that the new-gen Cooper S and Countryman Electric will be launched on July 24.



The new-gen Mini Cooper made its global debut in September last year. It comes in 'Cooper C' and 'Cooper S' trims, powered by a 154 BHP 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 201 BHP 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, respectively.

The pure electric version comes in 'Cooper E' and 'Cooper SE' trims with 40.7 kWh and 54.2 kWh battery packs, respectively.



The Mini Countryman Electric shares its underpinnings with the BMW iX1. The electric SUV comes in two variants: E and SE ALL4.

Both variants come with a 64.7 kWh battery pack. The base variant has a single electric motor, which makes 204 BHP and 250 Nm, while the SE trim has dual electric motors that produce 313 BHP and 493 Nm. The E trim offers 461 km of range, while the SE can cover 433 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle).

Pricing could have been more aggressive. 40L would have been ideal price.

Don't have an issue with the price to be honest.
The outgoing model from 2014 was 42.xx earlier this year.

A 2L increase is not bad all things considered. The interiors are definitely a step up from the previous gen. Exterior I've mixed feelings about.

2024 Mini Cooper

The fourth generation makes its way to India. While it’s an all-new generation Cooper, it still uses the old underpinnings. The exteriors get a major refresh and the car gets new bumpers and lights. Even the interiors get a major refresh with a massive round touchscreen taking center stage. With BMW Group’s recent attempts towards sustainability, the materials used for the dashboard are made of recycled materials. It’s unique for sure and manages to look premium as well.

Mini Countryman Electric

A lot has been said about the not so mini size of the Countryman, so let’s not go down that road. The Countryman Electric shares its 66.45 kWh battery with the BMW iX1. A quick comparison with some of the other electric SUVs in the market will show you that it is priced on par with the Volvo XC40 Recharge single motor version. At Rs. 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the Countryman Electric is affordable than the BMW iX1 (Rs. 66.90 lakh) with which it shares its battery pack. The Ioniq 5 at Rs. 45.95 lakh seems like a very good value for money option knowing that the Countryman Electric has one of the lowest power and torque figures of the segment.
