Select Honda dealerships selling CNG kits for the Amaze

According to a media report, select Honda dealerships are offering the Amaze with a CNG kit. It is available as an aftermarket option for an additional cost of Rs 75,000-85,000.

As per the images, dealers are selling a CNG kit manufactured by Lovato. It can be installed in the manual variants of the Amaze and comes with a 1-year warranty.

The Honda Amaze does not come with a factory-fitted CNG option. This is said to have affected its sales as rivals like the Tata Tigor and Maruti Dzire do have CNG variants. It is believed that Honda dealers have started offering aftermarket CNG kits for the Amaze to retain customers looking for a CNG compact sedan.

The Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 89 BHP and 110 Nm. The engine is paired with either a manual or CVT. The overall output of the engine is expected to drop when running on CNG.

Great technique by the dealers I must say to clear the existing stock. Also dealers missed an opportunity here by not offering CNG in CVT.

IMO Honda must introduce CNG in the upcoming Amaze next-gen. I know a lot of people who simply picked up Punch, Fronx etc. just because it had CNG!

This once again reflects Honda's commitment or rather the lack of it towards the Indian market. While OEMs are installing twin cylinder systems in order to better cater to the needs of the Indian customers, in Honda's case, dealers are having to take the matter in their own hands.

Since diesel engines have started losing market share, OEMs are focusing more on CNG to cater to 'Running Cost' conscious buyers but Honda seems to be on another planet

But, what happens to the warranty from Honda? I'm guessing they wouldn't be too delighted with this development.

Took a TD of an Amaze MT CNG and wanted add a few bits of information.
The warranty support is only from the dealer from which you are buying the car and the same goes on the cars supported.

So it seems like a ploy by dealers to sell more cars with which Honda is generally struggling nowadays.

My advice would be to stay away. The warranty is as good as word of mouth and is equivalent to getting CNG retrofitted from outside.

Manufacturer backed warranties and cars are much better as they have extensive R&D going into their products.
