Side profile is almost identical to current Slavia. Wheels are the same, only finished in a matt black shade to conceal its identity. Body creases along the sides look identical too. So, in typical Skoda style, majority of design updates are at the car’s front. We expect slightly redesigned headlights, grill and a revised front bumper.

Powertrains-wise, Slavia will continue to get the same 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI Turbo Petrol engine (114 bhp, 178 Nm, 6MT, 6TC) and 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI EVO Turbo Petrol engine (148 bhp, 250 Nm, 6MT, 7DCT).

Hope Skoda India will give powerful AC and better interiors in this facelift. Rest everything is perfect in this car, as far as I know.

I think the AC in-effectiveness is due to the 1.0 3 cylinder not having enough power near idle to spin a larger AC compressor. I could be wrong though, would request experts to chime in.

Re: Skoda Slavia Facelift spied testing for the first time

AC and the brake noises are some of my major concerns with the 1.0 TSI make (and AC seems to be a problem with 1.5 too).

It's getting so hot in India nowadays, and I reckon it will continue to do so over the next few years.

A 15 minute test drive at 6:30 pm in the Slavia 1. 0 and I was still sweating.

If I am spending 15-20L on a car, I expect it to keep me cool for atleast 7 years

Slavia has very poor plastics with a lot of rattling issues , Hoping that Skoda rectifies this and gives better interior quality in this facelift version.

Its a nice car, marred by poor fuel efficiency. How I wish they introduce a hybrid one day!

Not true. I own Polo 1.0 Tsi and AC is chiller.

Is it really bad? I thought it was pretty good for a car of this size with a turbo petrol engine.

Cabin of the Slavia/Virtus is larger I believe. I think the polo also had slightly more power available near idle rpm to power the AC. Will need to look at torque/rpm graphs of both to say for sure.

I have multiple mates with the various 1 or 1.5l engines in their Kushaqs, Slavias and Virtus'. I speak for our driving conditions in agra, and it's always in single figures. 5 to 8 kmpl

Is this in traffic? That’s pretty horrible, I have seen big V6 and V8 engines get similar figures.

Just as I was about to finalise buying a 2023 ambition 1.0Tsi MT for 14.5 lakhs (on-road) in Bangalore, this news came up

In Bengaluru's heavy city traffic, we get between 9.9 - 11.6 km/l with our Slavia 1.5L DSG. We've been using XP95 from the start, and I find the mileage pretty good for a car of this size. On highways, we get between 16 - 18 km/l. The car has covered just over 10,000 km so far.

That’s more what I expected.

Mileage figures don’t really count in heavy traffic. When you are not moving, your engine is still running and consuming fuel even though you are covering 0 kms. This means we are getting an average of 0kmpl if we stay stationary for a while. This will screw up all the mileage calculations.

Today in the afternoon it was 45 degrees outside and I took it to a nearby town, it took the car around 10-12 minutes to cool the cabin and after that it was all great. Mine is a Virtus 1.5 GT and in last 20 odd days since owning the car have travelled to 3 different states (MP,MH & Orissa) and till now have not faced any cooling issue. Yes, my Creta does a better job as it hardly takes 5-6 minutes to cool the cabin but Virtus 1.5 AC is no where even remotely close to being weak.
