As reported by multiple sources, I believe the reason is that Alcazar is built on the K2 platform, which it shares with Creta and Seltos, whereas Carens is built on the K1 platform, which is shared by grand i10 and recently launched Syros.

Is that true? Wiki says it's the K2: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kia_Ca...tion_(KY;_2021)

The Kia Carens, albeit mentioned as K2, says citation needed, and from what I see on the web, NDTV Car and Bike and Motorbeam say it's based on the K1, while others don't mention specifically, while some others mention K2.

I am not sure on the matter, but seeing that the Syros is based on a reinforced K1, there is a chance that the Carens is too. Moreover the upcoming Carens EV is also said to be on a modified K1, so it seems to be true, but no reliable sources to confirm.
