Considering the Carens was launched in early 2022, it's about time for a facelift, hopefully, mid to late 2025 launch overseas is expected with an Indian launch in early 2026.

Have to applaud KIA, they are on their toes in trying to keep the cars fresh. New Facelifted Carens feels like a Generational change and is trying to bring in elements of the very much loved Carnival, maybe KIA has understood that Indian psyche loves the MPV styling.

Kia Carens facelift to get new name; will expand current MPV’s line-up. A strategy taken from Maruti Suzuki as seen with the Ertiga and XL6.

Kia India has now confirmed that the updated MPV will get a new name as suffix after ‘Carens’.

As the facelift and EV will be sold alongside the current Carens, the MPV’s price range is set to expand considerably.

- Carens and updated MPV will be positioned like Ertiga and XL6
- Kia Carens, facelift and EV will see price range increase
- Kia Carens EV to sit at the top of the range.
- Carens EV will share its powertrain with the Hyundai Creta Electric, which comes with 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery pack options, with MIDC-rated ranges of 390km and 473km, respectively.

Do we know if they have done any structural reinforcements to score better on the NCAP? I'm eagerly waiting for this announcement and the things that concerns me are
- only DCT on the petrol variant (concerns related to the gearbox reliability)
- torque converter only available with diesel (concerns related to government policies and the dreaded DPF issues)
- safety ratings

A torque converter on the petrol with a mild hybrid variant will be literally the perfect combination for me (similar to Hyryder/Grand Vitara).

Yes, pricing is expected to overlap with a few of the petrol only models of the Innova Hycross.

Fulfilling the old Carnival space will be hard for a facelifted (however extensive it would be) version of Carens. It would need atleast Hycross size body with 2.0l petrol and diesel engines.

Does this mean Carens will be priced even above the Alcazar now?

I always found it weird Hyundai positioned the Alcazar as a 7 seater version of Creta while Kia positioned it more as a 7 seater version of Sonet and at a discount to the Seltos
