Maruti Suzuki registers highest-ever sales in FY2023-24

For the first time, Maruti Suzuki’s annual sales surpassed the 2 million unit mark in FY2023-24. The company also registered its highest-ever exports, net sales and net profit.

Maruti Suzuki sold 21,35,323 vehicles during the year, a growth of 8.6% compared to FY2022-23. The carmaker sold 18,52,256 units in the domestic market, while exports stood at 2,83,067 units.

Maruti Suzuki registered net sales of Rs 1,349,378 million in FY2023-24, a growth of 19.9% over the net sales of Rs 1,125,008 million in FY2022-23.

The company’s net profit increased by 64% from Rs 80,492 million in FY2022-23 to Rs 1,32,094 million in FY2023-24. The steep rise in net profit can be attributed to higher sales volume, favourable commodity prices, cost reduction efforts and higher non-operating income.

Maruti Suzuki’s fourth-quarter sales increased by 13.4% compared to the previous year. Domestic sales stood at 5,05,291 units, and 78,740 units were exported.

Net sales during the quarter stood at Rs 3,66,975 million compared to Rs 3,08,218 million in the same period of the previous year. Net profit also increased by 47.8%.

Re: Maruti Suzuki registers highest-ever sales in FY2023-24

No surprises here at all. Maruti is the King of Indian automobile market and will remain there for years to come. Kudos to Maruti for this great achievement. They have really worked hard to get it here. After 40 years also they are able to keep their great A.S.S. intact and very much affordable too. People don't think much when they buy any Maruti car as Maruti means reliability, great service, great economy and peace of mind for them. Maruti has actually fulfilled dream of owning a car for lakhs of Indians. People are not scared of buying Maruti car as they are assured it will not burn their pockets. I think that's a great achievement which nobody else able to achieve.

This year, real stars for them are Grand Vitara and Fronx. Both cars got them some really good numbers and I guess good profits as well. Baleno, Brezza, Wagon R, Swift and Dzire are champions as usual. Ertiga sales numbers are really good and its consistently in top 10 now. If we add XL6 numbers in it which is actually the same car, it actually becomes one of top 3 cars sold here in India.

Few things Maruti should focus on in future IMO -

1. EV cars, currently they have nothing. Tata enjoying all sales, almost.
2. They need to focus more on safety ratings, all cars should have 4 stars at least if not 5.
3. Bring new models of Ciaz, Alto, Eeco, etc.
4. Need more strong hybrid cars from them.
5. They should add something at high end. With Invicto, Nexa platform is ready now to sell high end cars (Read costly, premium). Maybe premium sedan and SUV.

All the best Maruti for future.

Re: Maruti Suzuki registers highest-ever sales in FY2023-24

As much as we say about their safety ratings, Maruti Suzuki has been a household name and has fulfilled wishes of many families in buying their first cars. Cars in India are seen as a social status and Maruti has helped families get reliable, low cost to maintain and fuel efficient cars. The company has kept their ASS and dealership really well and they played a masterstroke with having their spare parts easily accessible in the market.

Maruti should now focus on:
1. Having 6 airbags in their entire lineup and working on their structural safety.
2. Have better quality interiors (The GV's interior doesn't look like a 20L car)
3. Bring affordable hybrids
4. Bring the Ciaz facelift. It is one of the best cars in term of space and comfort.

Their line up is killer and they have products or multiple products at a price point. The GV is selling really well and Fronx doesn't seem to have hampered Baleno. Wagon R and Dzire are pulling in strong numbers. Except for Ciaz and Jimny, their entire line up is successful. Even products like Celerio, Ignis and S-presso are pulling in decent numbers.

Re: Maruti Suzuki registers highest-ever sales in FY2023-24

Maruti Suzuki, a name etched in the hearts of Indian car enthusiasts, has indeed maintained its dominance in the Indian market. Their understanding of local preferences, commitment to fuel efficiency, and extensive service network have endeared them to millions of Indian consumers. It’s no wonder that their sales have soared past the 2 million mark, accompanied by impressive export figures.

However, as other users have rightly pointed out, Maruti Suzuki faces some pressing challenges. Prioritizing safety features and venturing into the electric vehicle (EV) segment are crucial steps for them.

Ciaz is the new Ambassador of the Government Offices. Indian, reliable and not flashy.

Why would Maruti bring a new generation when others sedans in the segment are bleeding and Maruti is able to sell Ciaz even without any significant efforts? They would better spend the R&D money on cloning a successful model and launch it with another name.
