While it stays true to it's name, it somewhat feels kinda awkward to hear it from Toyota. Nonetheless, this variant we are getting in India still continues with the current engine 2.8 as per the article. It's mostly in neighboring countries they've 2 engines on offer, perhaps?

The Fortuner Leader Edition is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine that produces 201 BHP and 420 Nm (MT) / 500 Nm (AT). The engine is mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It does not get a 4x4 option.

It looks absolute garbage. Looks like an aftermarket kit from Karol Bagh. Looks like a ****** designed it, those alloys look like thay have been painted in someone's garage.

On the contrary, this is arguably a better time to launch with waiting period of around 2-3 months. This way, both the future winners as well as the losers (who don't know yet) might end up booking now in anticipation.

Who knows, the losers might still hold onto their bookings later as consolation prizes

Seems like a sound business strategy to me!

You might have hit a ball here. That might be a very strong reason, for any brand (not just Toyota) to do these 'Sticker Jobs' - to get news content for Media to publish and to get people talking about the product again (free advertising).

They should have provided the "Leader Edition" a front flag pole also as standard, would be a big hit in Tamil Nadu!

Everyone will keep ranting on Toyota for this variant and it will silently soar the sales chart This also helps to get free advertisements as someone will discuss with friends or families whether in favour or against. In either case the brand gets what it was looking

Leader edition

The car is really made for politicians
-Overhyped by many people for a basic car(no offense to Toyota owners)

Good looks on outside but no functionality(4x4)

You get the jokes right

Re: Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition 2.8L Diesel 4x2 launched

Next set of Fortuner variants
  • Master
  • Boss
  • Topper

Then they could do the whole Govinda No. 1 thing
  • Legender No. 1
  • Leader No. 1

Re: Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition 2.8L Diesel 4x2 launched

Correct me if I am wrong but aren't those the 17" rims of the regular RWD variant painted black?

I assume that the pricing would be somewhere between the Legender and the regular variant (couple of crores, a c-class and a few organs)

The Fortuner delivers. It's the SUV that lets you conquer any journey with confidence. Its legendary reliability means you can drive far and wide, knowing you'll reach your destination. And when it's time to trade in, the Fortuner's excellent resale value makes it a smart investment. Sure, it might not boast the latest tech or the fanciest interior. whoever hate Fortuner for its price, it still in top spot and under the wishlist of many even for non politicians.

Not to pick a fight or anything, and I'm sure you are using it colloquially, but the term you have used is extremely casteist in nature.

Do read up about it. Have a few friends of this caste and they do feel bad when others throw it up as an insult.

Hello Sir, I went through the article from the link you posted. Well, I gotta apologize. I used the term colloquially. Also, thank you, for bringing it to my notice that, I unknowingly used words against a particular caste. Also, let me assure you, I shall be very careful while using the term ******. Sorry again.
