The Bolero Neo+ is offered in a 9-seater configuration with a bench seat in the second row and two side-facing seats at the back. The SUV has a dual-tone interior with a 3-spoke steering wheel and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Powering the Bolero Neo+ is a new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 118 BHP and 280 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the standard Bolero Neo uses a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 100 BHP and 260 Nm.

Looks good, will be a viable replacement for Xylo in a reasonable price.

Thankfully they have not skimped on the engine size, which I have come to appreciate Mahindra for.

Finally!

This was in wait for long time. This vehicle will give rural India rugged spacious option. Neo was smaller and lacked hauling space.

Re: Mahindra Bolero Neo+ launched at Rs 11.39 lakh

Is this a move in the direction of replacing the entire Bolero range with the Bolero Neo range for the rural and semi urban market?

If yes it is a good move.

Re: Mahindra Bolero Neo+ launched at Rs 11.39 lakh

Crucial point about this car is that this is much longer than the regular Bolero Neo. At 4400 mm length, it is 405mm (around 1.3 foot) longer. This should provide ample space at the back for seating two abreast on side facing seats. See attached spec sheet.

I can see this becoming the defacto rural taxi. Since it is over 4 meters M&M would anyway have lost the GST benefits, so they made the wise decision to give this the 2.2 MHawk, one of the smoothest diesels around anywhere in the world. We all know that this type of car is going to get overloaded with people and cargo in the rral world, and the powerful 2.2 MHawk should help to move the beast effortlessly.

Another major and surprising feature is that this car has milti link suspension at the rear axle. Even the Thar does not get this. It should smooth out the ride for the passengers in the last row nicely. A 2680 mm wheelbase should give this car plenty of room and comfort in the middle row.

Only concern is safety as side facing rear seats world mean the car would get nailed on the NCAP tests.

2.2 MHawk might well take the Crown, on being the single engine that has been tuned in the maximum number of output configurations anywhere in the world.

Re: Mahindra Bolero Neo+ launched at Rs 11.39 lakh

Our Neo has just crossed around 26500 kilometers in about 20 months. The vehicle is leaps and miles ahead of older UVs of Mahindra in terms of comfort, stability and fuel efficiency. Was hoping to see a third row front facing Neo+ for an upgrade. They could have done that in the top variant atleast.

The Scorpio platform as it moved away from leaf spring has Multi-Link with Panhard bar for all the models. Several versions of this over the years of course, Lotus got involved at some point , they are not known for comfort anyways.

ScorpioN so far is the odd one out with Watts link for handling more speed of course.

What is stopping Mahindra from giving a 4WD option in this segment. It will suit many soft-offroaders as well as people living in rural hilly areas.

With mHawk 2.2L engine under the hood, this vehicle has the potential to conquer the market, which was once ruled by "Taper Chatt [stepped roof]" LWB Bolero in Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.

I wish for a Jimny like solid axle setup, both at front and rear with coil spring suspension.

Want 4WD, Mahindra will have Thar 5 door soon there. Pricier, yes for sure, but that's what they want. They know that even if it is a rural customer, they are okay to pay a premium.

Re: Mahindra Bolero Neo+ launched at Rs 11.39 lakh

How I wish this came with one higher version - front facing 3rd row seats, torque converter, adaptive cruise control, rear AC and AA/Carplay.

Will be a value for money option to the ScorpioN and a great cross country people mover.

Re: Mahindra Bolero Neo+ launched at Rs 11.39 lakh

Any idea about the kerb weight of the vehicle ? While the 118hp/280Nm look less by itself, the weight vis-a-vis the power/torque will give a fair idea about the driveability of the vehicle.

Would've been perfect with Cruise Control and MTT. A Neo+ P10+ variant in the future maybe ?

Is there a confirmation that the locking differential is available on this in any model?
