Yes, Skoda currently finding it unfeasible to assemble Superb as CKD in India - I fear same might happen to Octavia / Kodiaq. They might shut down Indian CKD assembly plants.

Re: Scoop! Skoda Superb to be relaunched in India on April 3. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 54 lakh

Apparently some dealerships are offering upto 18L discount on these cars, additional 1L if you are leasing it

This was bound to happen, no one was going to buy these at 54L ex-showroom. It's a really good buy at 35L

Source: V3Cars, please cross check with your dealership

Skoda don't want to give 10L discounts on EOL models. So, first they increased the price unreasonably and now they are throwing 10L-15L discounts. Most of the clothing brands follow the same strategy to clear the outdated stocks and make room for new models, every year. So, Skoda India first positioned themselves as a premium brand, and then started using India as dumping ground for their EOL products without even losing a dime.

As per my recent conversation with one of the service advisor from mahavir skoda, customers are least interested in new SUPERB despite offering mouth watering discounts. Looks like it's not an easy job even selling a few units of these.

It's very sad to see such momentum for one of my all time favourite sedan.

Had they not brought in at the CBU prices, it’d have continued the previous momentum. With several EV options at 40-50 L range, no reason for anyone to keenly consider Superb now.

What are the mouth watering discounts the SA is referring to?

He was tight lipped to say the figure. However, we can expect more than 10L off easily.

I was offered 18 lacs off ex showroom price, which would make it close to 50 Lacs in Bangalore

Looks like it will be a CBU unit.
Could you please shed light on whether the image posted by you is from an official Skoda source ? Some ADAS features are struck off in the image however it appears that the hardware for these features is there in the car and it can be activated through coding. Please clarify. Thank you.

Re: Scoop! Skoda Superb to be relaunched in India on April 3. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 54 lakh

I read The Autocar news that somewhere around 25 pieces of the CBU Skoda Superb are still left to be sold. For them, they're offering upto 18L discounts making it fall below 40L on road price.

Now, I was wondering what will happen to those 75 buyers across the country who bought at almost 58-59L price point? This question sprung in my mind since I see a white Skoda Superb CBU (registration plates tell me it was bought some 3 months ago) unit in my office parking with a HSBC tag on it. Most likely it's being used as a company car. These huge companies wouldn't mind, but what about individual buyers?

These units were manufactured in 2023 so after 10 days, these cars will be infact 2 years old in terms of resale value. Even if you calculate 15% depreciation year on year, the valuation will be around this price only. Though it looks to be a great deal at first, infact it is is not as whenever a buyer will go to resell the car, the buyer won't be willing to pay a price in terms of 54 lacs original cost as the car was anyway overpriced at that point of time being a CBU.

Re: Scoop! Skoda Superb to be relaunched in India on April 3. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 54 lakh

Saw this ad in our classifieds, I want to know more about the vehicle, how did it ended up here in India. Apparently, it’s a 2021 Superb diesel with adblu, registered in Mumbai. Only one in India according to the ad, which I would believe because Skoda never bought the BS6 diesel here.

Yes a Unicorn!
I'd be inclined to suspect it was imported by VWSkoda for internal factory purposes / evaluations / tests in our conditions, and as is usually the case - auctioned into the market. Someone picked it, and is now making gold by selling it at a good price .
What I'm curious still about is - how come nobody in the staff snapped it up at the auction! This would have been the perfect sedan to own for our conditions and economics. Forever.

Interesting to know about the auction. Can anyone share further information on such auction. I presume these are street legal.
