Starting a new thread since the others are old. The Ranger has been spotted in what is said to be Chennai along with a Trend variant of the Endeavour / Everest.

Looks like this confirms that Ford imported the two vehicles.

The Ranger is the XLT version. Specced with the 2.0L bi-turbo engine as is visible on its fender in the other picture.

I’m sure someone will call the Flatbed company (Elite Roadside Assistance) to ask where these cars were actually headed to !!

And according to the person who has clicked these pictures, both flat beds were clicked near Porur Toll Plaza, Chennai.

Does manufacturers usually transport vehicles without any cover or is this a ploy from Ford to increase the hype ?

Whatever it might be, just hope that they don't go into a venture with TaMo. And that's for their own good, as well as the fanbase.

I still wouldn't believe Ford's plans of re entering. Might be for some testing.

I saw a Ranger pickup truck in Hyderabad. Couldn't click a picture as it was in a single lane road and the truck went past pretty fast. It was a white truck with UN plates(blue ones with yellow font/white font). Maybe even these specimens might be imported by some individual.

That being said, the Endy looks tasty. Imagine, if this Endy and the rumoured Pajero Sport make a re entry, I really wish they dethrone the Fortuner!

2 scenarios

1. Could be for testing purposes to factor multi environment testing (Highly unlikely)

2. In Chennai, Ford Global Business Services and Engineering services center. They provide design and engineering support for global operations. So there could be a requirement there and this could be one of the imports

Just a month ago I visited the Michigan assembly plant & I was wondering when will we have either Bronco or Ranger in India. And here comes this photo. Wow!

Lets wait for more information before we all go nuts. Guess they are here for homologation study purposes. Maybe some private person imported.

The Bronco is a fabulous vehicle. Dont think that would even be on the cards for an India launch.
