re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Next gen Honda Amaze to debut by end 2024.

Deliveries of the new Honda Amaze are expected to start by January 2025.

Quote:
New Amaze will get fresh looks, inside-out
Will continue with the same petrol engine
All-new Dzire will launch before the Amaze
Quote:
the next Honda Amaze will use a modified version of the platform that underpins the City and Elevate. The Amaze will feature a significantly shorter wheelbase compared to the City's 2,600mm and the Elevate's 2,650mm, to keep the overall length under four meters. The current Amaze's wheelbase is 2,470mm, which is 130mm shorter than the City’s. This will help Honda consolidate its India line-up from two platforms to one, and enhance economies of scale.
Quote:
Honda’s entry-level sedan will retain its stylish design cues, which will match larger Honda sedans sold abroad.

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

There was a time when Swift Dzire was highest selling car in India, but currently it's not. Compact sedan segment is no longer attractive, or have remained attractive only for cab segment, therefore instead of investing in bringing new Amaze to India, Honda should focus more on reviving WRV brand with CVT and more features this time.

Or definitely the Jazz! Looking at how popular the Baleno is for Maruti, the Jazz would do wonders for Honda as well.

I really want a sedan Amaze to launch. But a sub 4-m compact SUV is the way to go Honda. Make it a Amaze-R or something. Take cues from the Curvv/Basalt. Customers would appreciate it. But Honda being a old Japanese guy, it is not going to happen.

It was not just emission norms, ie BS 6.2, since the same engine is carried forward in the Amaze.

Next-gen Honda Amaze spied in India for the first time

The third-generation Honda Amaze has been spotted testing in India for the first time. The test mule was recently seen on the outskirts of Delhi.

The prototype of the new-gen Amaze was fitted with an emissions testing kit, and looking at the spy images, it seems the camouflage is hiding the car’s pre-production bodywork. The overall design though, looks similar to the current Amaze. The car has a boxy appearance with smoked taillights and a shark fin antenna.

The new Amaze is expected to be based on a modified version of the same platform that underpins the City. It is likely to be powered by the same 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine as the current model. It produces 89 BHP and 110 Nm and is paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT.

The third-generation Honda Amaze is expected to make its global debut by the end of this year. The compact sedan will compete with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura.

If you look carefully, you can see the lanewatch camera on the left ORVM, which suggests that the new Amaze might get the HU from the City 5th gen. (I doubt that it would get the HU from the Elevate given the Honda design philosophy and the smaller dimensions of the Amaze). The rear seats also get adjustable headrests. The overall design seems very similar to the current generation. Seems like the changes would be made to the bumpers, fenders, headlamps and tail lamps along with the interiors to give it a fresh look.

Wow, that's one sharp looking car with a great stance and to my eyes better looking than even the current gen City. Can't wait for the unveil.

Is Honda getting its design mojo back?

re: Next-gen Honda Amaze launched at Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)

My parents have owned the current generation Amaze for the last two years.

I believe the Amaze CVT is a value-for-money offering from Honda and is more bang for the buck than some premium hatchbacks. Though it's a bit boring to drive and low on features, it's a no-nonsense fill-it-, shut-it, and-drive car. I hope the value proposition remains the same with the new Amaze, especially considering that the next-gen Dzire is around the corner!

Love the aggression by Honda to release the teaser just when Maruti released the new Dzire teaser. We all are rooting for you, Honda!

The front looks great - can always trust Honda to launch a reliable, good-looking car. I just hope the interiors are modern and the features aren't a generation old, as is the case with most other Honda releases.
