The moderators have their regular jobs to do. Compiling data takes time and effort, ensuring error-free reports. It's not like they're doing this full-time.

Hyundai Tucson numbers seems to be very low. They may be at par with their competitors (Kodiaq and others) but much lower than Hyundai's own estimate of 5000 units annually. A lacklustre petrol engine to be blamed for an otherwise brilliant product.

I think Punch beats the Exter in better road presence, which is a very important criteria among the Indian buyers nowadays. Exter looks puny, almost the size of the Wagon-R.

Its difficult to sell a 30L+ Hyundai, its surprising that Hyundai has never put in 100% efforts in building a brand in that segment. They should look to TATA / Mahindra, how they have captured 20-35L segment

I agree with your statement and Hyundai is happy to keep selling creta and others but not tapping this segment which may be an upgrade for many. I would still want to state that when i was looking for a car in this segment, i tried the xuv700 and Tucson and just went and picked the Tucson for its refinement and overall fit and finish. I obviously was looking for the diesel hence it made me choose the Tucson but if i would have been looking for a petrol, would never have picked this engine of tucson which makes me wonder is Hyundai missing out on decent numbers (specially in NCR and other markets too) only as they have an underpar petrol engine for otherwise a fantastic product.

Re: January 2024 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Sad to see the Honda City with lowest numbers (1100 consecutive 2 months) in the segment. Is the Elevate cannibalising City? Verna is comfortably doing 2200 nos.

Magnite has a mild bump from 2100 to 2500- is that the AMT effect? Magnite is still outselling the Kiger which is stagnating at 800.

Ciaz selling 400 - value for money.

Well done Tata proud of your swift growth.
