Tata Indigo CS

Talking about Tatas, how about the current Indigo CS.

You get all the space of an indica and thoda boot too.Its priced decently too.

I think it fits the bill for the Taxi association quite well.

Is there anything left for the Logan in the "Retail" segment, that M&M is getting so jumpy. No offence meant to Logan owners, but atleast this move could set those sales charts moving.

Just came across this thread. In Goa we don't have many Yellow & Black cabs. Most are the white tourist cabs. Most of them are Omni's. Other popular models for cabs (in order of popularity) are the Esteem, Accent, NHC, Wagon R, Santro, Indigo, Logan. You see a quite a few Swifts & Dzire's now. The Swift is more popular than the Indica as a Taxi in Goa. Of course you see some Merc's, Corolla's, Optra's, Petra's, Camry's, Verna's and recently even a Linea. A few Amby's still run as share Taxi's on the Margao Colva route.
My suggestion for the Mumbai cab would be.
1. Logan
2. Indigo / Indigo Marina
3. Accent
4. Verna

Wagon R is not suitable. Unless of course they add a boot like the Dzire.

Why the Accent and Verna? Cabs need to be spacious, reliable, cheap and if possible, comfy. The Accent and the Verna's talents lie elsewhere IMO (not saying they aren't any of the above but you get my point). But as for the Logan and Marina, agree 100%. Bangalore's Meru cabs uses only Logans and Marinas as far as I know.

If you consider all the city cabs in Mumbai, including the air-conditioned ones (excluding tourist taxis), there is a huge variety of cars now. In an approximate descending order of numbers, they are:

1. Premier Padmini
2. Maruti Omni (new and used)
3. Maruti Alto (new and used)
4. Hyundai Santro (new and used)
5. Maruti WagonR (new and used)
6. Maruti Zen (used)
7. Maruti 800 (new and used)
8. Tata Indica (new and used)
9. Mahindra Logan*
10. Maruti Esteem* (new and used)
11. Tata Indigo / Marina*
12. Premier 118NE#
13. Hindustan Ambassador#*
14. Maruti Versa#*
15. Maruti SX4#*

*Used mostly as AC cabs
#In negligible numbers

What's wrong with the Accent & Verna? They comply with most of the requirements you have listed. Performance & Handling are not a part of your requirements. The Accent is very popular as a Taxi in Goa.

Indigo CS would be perfect as a cab.
