I do not think Maruti is going to revive the Ciaz.

There is hardly any market left for B segment sedans in India now. The plight of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna et al is visible clearly. Only the Virtus sales numbers are some saving grace, but when you look at the sub 4 meter SUVs sales numbers, you will realize that B segment sedans have a very rough road ahead in India.

The sub 4 meter compact sedan category still holds some value for the manufactureres as the profit margins are high (as basically a lot of part sharing and platform sharing happens with the Hatchback cousin) and there is still demand for this segment as the entry cost is low and also makes a perfect sense for fleet and CNG versions given their usable boot space.

I think the new Dzire can bring back the desire of owning a sub 4 metre sedan back in India. With its new segment features and the efficiency that people desire at this price point, it makes a strong case for itself.

Hope, Honda really pack in all the features into the Amaze to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

Currently, with the new features, Dzire must rule the roost.

I think its time for Maruti to up the game and take it to next level. They should have added leather seats in top trim along with some other premium features like ventilated seats. They are the leaders and they should show this to rest of the players. Hope Maruti will make their future cars more and more premium.

Overall great car by Maruti and this will easily sell like hot cakes. This is highest selling sedan for last many years and will remain the same. Front looks are really cool. I am eagerly waiting for new Ciaz now, I am sure it will also look much better than current gen.

Excellent design by MS, both front and back. Interiors and safety also well taken care of. If only they provided a proper automatic (atleast CVT), it would have decimated whatever is left of Honda Amaze.

The new Dzire will not completely replace the current model. This [current-gen] one will carry on as the Tour version only, as we have significant sales of both versions.

What magic Maruti has done to achieve 5 star rating for a Heartect platform car!? Is "Voluntary" the way to go? Being very vocal against the GNCAP team in the past, why did they send the car voluntarily for testing? Any truce happened between Maruti and GNCAP?

Finally, Maruti started to address that one point everyone used to call out. DZire was and is a very sensible buy, and adding safety to the conversation just makes it even more compelling.

With new generation Amaze around the corner and Maruti's own Ciaz not being looked after, this fills the gap (from the looks of it) nicely, catering to a wide variety of customers. Honda may not have anticipated such a strong contender.

Holy smokes!!! Did the sun really rise from the West? MS car achieving a 5 star rating and that too Dzire FL? This is K.O for many competitors whose only strength was safety rating.. *cough* *cough* TATA, and I am not sure even Amaze will be able to put up a fight now even if it would still decently. This is checkmate from Maruti and no more Tin can mocking for their cars. Bravo!!!

With the best in class A.S.S [in its segment atleast as a mass car producer], cheap ownership cost, reliable engines, best in class fuel efficiency, better quality control than competitors in this segment AND a 5 star rating?? I am just stunned as to how did they achieve this feet!!!
