Last year the Citroën "C3" won this award to actually competent cars like the GWM Ora Cat (leaving geopolitics aside). I am not sure this is something to be too excited about.

I would much rather the Fronx be selected for Design of the Year as that is where a rework of an existing model can actually make a difference, as it has with the Fronx. For that matter even the LBX and Abarth 500e are hardly new models.

Not yet, the Baleno has reportedly been submitted to BNCAP. Autocar says the Fronx will be in a round after that but I think Maruti can use BNCAP's "partner model" provision to have the Fronx rated.
