The 2024 MG Astor comes in Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro trims. The SUV gets features like ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and an auto-dimming IRVM.

The Astor also gets over 80 connected features as part of the i-SMART 2.0 suite. These include JIO Voice Recognition system, enabling voice commands for weather, cricket updates, calculator, clock, date/day information, horoscope, dictionary, news and more. The car also has an anti-theft feature with a digital key functionality.

The MG Astor is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, which includes 14 advanced safety aids that use onboard mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera.

The 2024 MG Astor is available with two engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 108 BHP and 144 Nm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual and CVT. The SUV also comes with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 138 BHP and 220 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

They really launched Astor at very attractive price, Top model under 20L with all bells and whistles sounds decent. I always liked design of Astor. Hope Hyundai launches updated Creta at reasonable price now. How's the performance of this 220 Turbo engine?

Following features are good in this update -

1. Ventilated Seats
2. Wireless Charger
3. Updated screen

Have any changes been made to the way engines are tuned ? because both 1.5 & 1.3 turbo were not great to drive in previous avatar. Not sure if a proper media review is being planned.

I really liked the Astor but the engine was a bit of a letdown. The Hyundai/Kia 1.5 turbo is much peppier. The interior cabin and overall build quality are amazing. I hope they have improved upon the screen and 360 camera. The camera feed earlier was very poor.

Going purely by looks, to me Astor doesn't have the presence. Not something which will catch your attention in a crowd. Good thing about it in the last version was the quality of the interiors in the top version.

Earlier base model used to start at 10.8 lakhs. Now it starts at 9.98 lakhs.
Top model with turbo petrol engine used to cost 18.68 lakhs. Now it costs 17.89 lakhs. Prices are down even after the addition of ventilated seats & auto dimming irvm.

While the car prices have reduced, the raise in RTO charges in TN would probably offset the difference gained in ex-Showroom price. I also feel they should have given a recline option for the 2nd row seats - currently it is too upright to my liking.

Yes, in fact. MG needs to alter the way it looks, make 1.5 more energetic, NCAP rating, and we can all see the changes in sales figures.

One of the most underrated car in Indian market, if not the most.

God’s honest truth, the only thing that sells a car in India is looks. You can survive without features (Elevate) but without looks, no chance.

The repair and upkeeping cost of MG is very high. This is basis firsthand experience. Just the rear bumper can push one back by 20K. Even if the price is reduced, the cost of ownership is certainly higher compared to similar products / same segment.

Astor does not excel in any of the departments like space, size, engine performance, F.E.. Interior quality is very good, but it is not spacious. Engines are neither powerful nor fuel efficient, compared to Creta & Seltos.

Initially it was found feature rich, but now competition has moved ahead and given proper face lifts to their products. But Astor has not been given a proper face lift. Whatever changes have been done are not noticeable. To get good market share, they have not done any proper marketing efforts also. So most of the people buy mid-size suv without considering it.

If your product is not selling, people will not see it on the road and hence you have to hammer them by advertisements. But we hardly see any advertisement for Astor or MG. Kia & Hyundai are masters in this aspect. They keep on introducing and upgrading their products every month or two and hence people will visit showrooms and complete the sale.

Here nothing is happening much in MG showrooms. Reducing price will not catch many people. You have to prove that you are not only cheaper but better than competition and something new has been given.

All the best MG.

I wonder if we can retrofit auto dimming IRVM from Astor to ZS EV?

Also, is the wireless Android Auto/Car play via software update possible or there's hardware change BTS? If software, then ZS EV/Existing Astor owners should be able to get it (doubt).

Even i am waiting to know the same details.

Does anyone has idea about this?
