- December 2023 saw a 21% YoY growth in Auto Retail.

- The entire Calendar Year (CY) '23 demonstrated significant growth, with an overall increase of 11% YoY. Growth was recorded across all segments: 2W grew by 9.5%, 3W by 58.5%, PV by 11%, Tractors by 7% & CV by 8%.

- Inventory Levels Across Categories: While the 2W category maintains an optimal level of inventory, the PV category continues to face challenges with high inventory levels, despite a slight decline observed at the end of Dec.

- Average inventory for PV ranges from 55-58 days

- Average inventory for 2W ranges from 15-20 days

Tata may be closer to Maruti than the figures suggest when you consider the white plate vehicles. Lot of Maruti vehicles like dzire, Eeco, Wagon r, Ertiga etc are going to taxi segments and have yellow plate.
If Tata can improve QA, fix the niggles and expand dealerships they can be no1 in 5 years. Such an image change and reversal of fortunes for a brand which was synonymous with rickety Indicas.

Tata Safari outselling the Harrier for the first time. Will this trend continue? I won't be surprised if it does, as the Safari just looks like a better package.

With the impending launch of the electric version, I am tempted to bet that the Tata Punch will become the top selling car in India, sometime in 2024.

On the C2 sedan front, Verna and city seem to be on a steady decline compared to the VAG twins. VAG is rooling the roost here.

Great job by VAG, I might be a minority but I am of the opinion that VAG 2.0 is a success for them. 4 of those cars together are delivering good numbers.

Virtus for the first time topped the chart. City is slowly disappearing, honestly not a surprise. Elevate has really eaten in to its share.

Verna numbers are surprisingly very low, might be year end restrictions. Funnier thing is ever since Verna scored 5 star in crash test its numbers are steadily declining.

Creta, Seltos and Nexon are unstoppable.

Kodiaq even with petrol only option and higher price is doing better numbers than Tucson (last month too). What could be the reason?
