re: Mercedes-Benz India to launch GLS facelift on January 8 | Edit : Launched @ Rs 1.32 crore

The grill looks like the first gen Hyundai creta. Not good for a Mercedes :(

I think the designers are running out of ideas to come up with an appealing look!

Now where did they find waffles that size to fit in the corners of the front bumper?

My two year old can draw a better grille with his left paw.

The new Creta face-lift suddenly feels so pleasing to my eyes.

Is Mercedes going the BMW way in terms of grill size? That looks hideous.

I like this grill.

Although big, it's clean and simple unlike the BMW monstrosities.

What is with this design philosophy of making all models of a particular manufacturer look alike. It’s so difficult distinguishing one from the other. Miss the days of my childhood when each model had its own design language and could be identified from far off too.

The obsession with these ugly large grills too baffles me. I’m glad I’m not looking to buy a new car anytime soon!

re: Mercedes-Benz India to launch GLS facelift on January 8 | Edit : Launched @ Rs 1.32 crore

I got a chance to check one in Delhi today. Per SA, with the kind of bookings they already have, it will be a long wait for future customers. I was disappointed; the overall finish or the quality of the material could be better for a vehicle costing 1,40 Ex-Showroom. But sadly, there are so many new buyers looking to pick an XL-size Mercedes SUV that no one is bothered.

If I was shopping in that segment (need-based) and money was not a big issue, I would gladly pick this at twice the money. (not in this interior colour, though )

Can anyone suggest if we should go for petrol or diesel GLS considering we plan to keep the SUV for 4-5 years. Our yearly running would be around 10k-12k and car would be Chandigarh registered. Which variant would fetch a better resale when its time to upgrade?

Not sure if it is the colour or the stitching pattern, this pic reminded me of the Hycross.
